F = ma, I'll assert that as Truth.

The 20-odd "natural laws" in science are accepted as "Truth".  There has to be some kind of bedrock, and things like F = ma are not questioned.

The problem is when journalists start paraphrasing scientists and confusing science with speculation.
well, not all scientists are innocent

some of them have been less than genuine because of exterior motives - usually money

Religion refuses to do this.

Quite a blanket statement....and an incorrect one in so many cases.

Name one uncertainty religion purports.
Any particular thing you can come up with = a shrug and tossing it to a god or requiring faith, which is just what you need when no actual reason exists.

Most of humanity refuses to do this.

That is a trait of humanity, not of religion -- albeit part of humanity from an early stage was to ascribe that which we don't know to the supernatural, i.e. religion.

Many a religion vs non-religion debate has been side-tracked into the atheist acknowledging we don't know certain things and the religious side getting pissy, calling it a cop-out.
Religion is allergic to "I don't know."  Humanity isn't, especially the portion of humanity that doesn't believe in magic.

Only one coach decided not to answer the question. Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst was the only who decided not to reveal how he likes his steak.

It’s good to know that most coaches in the B1G are serious about the way steak is prepared.

Math isn’t science. Math is like science, but with proof.

I think he knows revealing he likes it well done and slathered in A1 will get him run out of the state faster than switching to the Air Raid

I wasn't referring to math, but natural laws, like F = ma.  There aren't that many of them.  The laws of thermodynamics are perhaps my favorites because they are so broad in application, especially the Second Law.

I was asked what that law was in my preliminary oral exam.  The laws are expressed as mathematics, usually fairly simple equations.
