Watching the World Series.

Boy the Atlanta logo sure does look a lot like the Alabama logo.

My principal died in a car accident yesterday.  Sudden and random feeling....she was a year or two away from retiring, too.
Bummer, real bummer

There is this gawdawful desert that people serve out here that is Green Jello with disgusting things suspended in it such as shredded carrots, raisins and cottage cheese.

Vomit inducing.

horrid, but I saw it here in the early 60s, when I was still a toddler

The people who made this should be killed.
Or just given an oven.

best food city in America: NEW YORK by far.

worst food city in America: anywhere in Ohio. Ohio is just the worst of everything, basically.
I feel like any time you put millions of people from all over the world in about 5 square miles, you're gonna get good food. I haven't spent enough time in NYC to confirm your statement, but I'd expect it to be at or near the top.

I don't understand Ohio. There's basically nothing of note. Any individual Ohio city would have trouble ranking top 20 in the US. I'm sure it's scenic, but I can't think of a single distinguishing landmark worthy of seeing. There's no there there... Yet Ohioans seem to be fiercely territorial about their vanilla state.

What is the "local food" of note where you live?  Something rarely found elsewhere, but somewhat unique to your area.

Cincy had their chili, I don't think Atlanta has anything, shrimp and grits is popular but pretty widely spread.  I recall having a "pasty" in the UP of Michigan.
Stone crab claws.

Funeral Potatoes, Fry Sauce, Pastrami Burgers and Navajo Tacos.
Those are big in Wisconsin. Love 'em.

Weren't you just talking about Cali's big culinary revolution was putting beef on fries?

For Chicago, I'd say the best invention is the Italian Beef.

The hot dogs are awesome. Vienna is superior. Deep dish is just OK to me, but it is well loved.
