I think the intent is "long driving trips", not necessarily 24 hours.  Right now, it's inconvenient to take an EV on a 12+ hour drive.  But I think most folks with sports cars rarely do that, sports sedans yes, but not sports cars very often.

If we opine that sports cars are rarely driven more than say four hours in a day, the recharge thing is much less of a factor.  It would be for some of course, but I think for many owners these are basically toys.

I once pitched a game with a broken hand.  I swipe tagged a player on his helmet coming home on a passed ball and broke it, didn't know it.  Couldn't  hold a bat, it was my glove hand, not really a big deal.  But tibia?  Pitching with your landing leg broken?

These guys put a lot of force on that leg, and his was fractured, probably green stick, but still.

I once drove from Des Moines to Salt Lake City in one fell swoop, somewhere around 18 hours. Blowing and drifting snow in Iowa and Wyoming. I was really punchy and stupid at the end of that.

A friend and his now-wife drove straight through from their place here in MSP to her folks south of Seattle. That is 24 hours and change of windshield time. They did not repeat the drive on the return trip.

Most I've ever done is probably around 14 hours, from here up to Colorado for Spring Break.

About ten years ago.....me and six college friends drove straight from Minneapolis to Sarasota, Florida (and back) for spring break.  All packed in an Excursion.  I'd never do it again.

I doubt many of us have driven a sports car that distance in a day.

My step son drove from Miami to Cincy in a day, but in some regular car, at high speed.

I'm trying to think of the most comfortable long distance sports car, probably a base 911.

When I was 18, I drove from San Antonio to home (North Central Ohio, small town no one here has ever heard of, 1400 miles) in 1 sitting. With the stops for fuel and food, it took a little over 24 hours. What made it worse was that I had attended a Ted Nugent concert at the Alamo Dome the night before I left. Got back from the concert at around midnight and then left for Ohio about an hour later. That was a long couple of days and I could never even think to do it again.

The story about the first solo flight over the Atlantic is fascinating to me, if most of it is true.

my uncle drove from Lompoc CA to Marcus IA in 24 hours in a late 60's corvette convertible, back in the late 60's

google maps says it's a 27 hour trip @ 1770 miles

uncle Harold didn't care much for speed limits

I once rode my [former] motorcycle, a Suzuki SV650S, over 400 miles in a day.

I could barely walk after that.

Farthest I did was Columbus Ohio to Rutland Vermont which doesn't sound far, but was 750 miles. On the way there the Ohio portion felt like it took forever. On the way back it felt like driving home from work.
