My wife wants to change the bedding... Again.

Seems to me it's still working for its intended purpose. All I care about is that we HAVE bedding. I'm not even worried whether it matches--because I'm unable to tell what does or doesn't match. A fact that I'm reminded of nearly daily. "That doesn't match. Go change."

We bought a foam mattress, Tempurpedic, a few years back, it's excellent.  It's a king with a split and elevation head and foot.  I really miss it when we travel.  I think it was around $4500.  I had an impression they were soft, but this one is not at all, but it sure is comfortable.

I see there are a ton of brands out today.

We have a Tempur-Pedic.  Pretty comfortable but hot as hell.  That thing traps heat like nothing I've ever seen.  I have to freeze the rest of the house so I can get by at night.  Now we have an Australian Shepherd that sleeps with us and it's almost unbearable.  Waiting for the day she figures out it's cooler on the floor than up there like our other Aussie.

How Much Faster Can Slick Tires Make A Modest Performance Car? | Carscoops

Pretty interesting, to me, it made a difference.
Not the least bit surprising.    On a timed track with curves ( any kind of road course), the right tires are everything.

Yup, especially with higher hp/torque.  I was surprised it made as much difference in a fairly modestly powered hot hatch.

Left tires, not so much?

Not surprising to me that it would make a difference.

I wouldn't think that slicks would make a huge improvement in 0-60 time or something like that, for a car that doesn't produce enough power to really burn 'em up anyway.

But in a track setting, you're balancing the grip load of braking and lateral grip on corner entry, then have lateral grip in the corner, and then balancing the grip load of acceleration and lateral grip on corner exit.

So even a car that isn't going to be regularly breaking the tires loose under straight-line acceleration is now able to brake later into a corner, hold a higher corner speed, and accelerate earlier out.

That's HUGE.

drag racing and 0-60 times don't seem to be as decisive

We used to have one of those hot boxes. We took it to the harbor and cut it to fit the boat. Worked great there, because boat electric is free and it was easy to keep it 68 inside.

You can go to Kohl's (or wherever) and get a cooling gel topper for yours. They really work.
