I doubt that there are more than 8 people on the "half" that Fro is referring to who would offer up any type of serious objection to cutting California loose.

Well Alec Baldwin might accidentally rack up a few kills, but at least half of those are bound to be friendly fire.
A part of me wants to answer this, but then I realize it’s just going down this incredibly stupid jerk off story that you’re concocting. Run along and keep playing pretend like a slow child.

Lol that you tried to use "money" as your bargaining chip. The whole point of money is to buy things that you want. As such if you have to take a monetary hit in order to gain your independence from the coastal elitists, then it is worth every penny.

BB. Friend.

Let me tell you something. This is pretending you're doing. You're pretending California is this magical talisman of, I dunno, something. It's a massive state. It's got 11 percent of the people in this beautiful country. It's got one in 12 people who voted for the guy you voted for. No one would strip rights and citizenship from one of 10 Americans, and the fact the idea makes people happy is both grotesque and sickening. It is at it's heart an idea that's purely anti-American.

There's no bargaining chip and there's no independence because we're all Americans. If that upsets you so to be a part of our tribe, that's on you, not me or mine. Frankly, the idea that you'd get joy to eject your countrymen for reasons that frankly show a basic misunderstanding of the world around you (or I suppose the world is put aside to play gleeful pretend like a child), it disgusts me to my core. Just some shameful stuff.

When I left for dinner, I was kinda hoping to come back and talk about trucking situations, TBH.

Lol, countries split up all the time. Anyone would cut their oppressors loose if given the opportunity.

With your logic, we'd still be loyal to the Crown.

I would laugh my ass off if Margery Taylor Nuts got her way and CA and the northeast broke away from the midwest and south.
CA feeds 2/3 of the country their non-corn/wheat produce.

The crazy R crowd would be left with the rust belt and a rural south that is 1/3 minorities.  Recipe for success, I know.

Folks like to "fantasize" about highly unlikely (in my view) possibilities.  I mostly avoid that.

I've seen proposals to brack CA into 2-3-5 separate states, which I suppose is faintly possible someday.  The area in Atlanta called Buckhead has some similar effort afoot to break away from the city, it's largely white and wealthy.  My inkling is they are wanting more attention from City Hall and this is one way to get same.

Our political schism is largely rural vs urban, which makes sense.  I live in a clearly urban area and am far more dependent on government that if I lived out in the boonies.

The area around me in say 2 miles or so is developing rapidly, I like watching construction projects so that aspect is fun for me.  Traffic is not too bad usually, but could become so.  I'm still wondering if these large office buildings are going to attract tennants but thus far it seems they are.  I thought the WFH trend accelerated by COVID would really put a damper on the need for office space.

How 0-60 Testing Works - Magazines 0-60 Testing (roadandtrack.com)

The difference is telling. The X2’s brake-torqued, 4.6-second 0-to-60 is a staggering 1.8 seconds quicker than its real-world, mat-the-pedal 5-to-60. At 6.4 seconds, the BMW’s 5–60 sprint is far behind the Bullitt’s (5.0 seconds) and barely quicker than that of a Honda Odyssey minivan (6.6 seconds in both acceleration tests).
Don’t be surprised if that Honda van dusts a Subaru WRX STI at the next traffic light, either. The Subie’s published 0-to-60 is 5.3 seconds, but getting there requires a redline clutch-dump so abusive to the driveline, it should constitute a war crime. Had you looked at the laggy Subaru’s 7.0-second 5-to-60 number, you’d have known the boxy kid-hauler is way more likely to show its taillights to the rally champ.
These days, I’m a middle-age enginerd, and I win more stoplight grands prix than ever—even if I’m more likely to be the one in the minivan. My superpower isn’t age or experience. It’s that 5-to-60—the first number you should look at, and when the light turns green, the only one that matters.
