In other news... Specifically my phone's news feed...

I have three headlines from "The Spun", whatever that is, that showed up all almost right on top of each other:

  • Sports Media World Reacts To The Bob Costas News
  • College Football World Reacts To The Lee Corso News
  • Sports Media World Reacts To The Stephen A Smith News

Really?

I don't care if the three of them are caught up in a homosexual love triangle that resulted in double murder suicide. I'm not clicking your clickbait headlines, The Spun...

Well, I don't care about who reacts to whatever the news is, just spit out the news.

Brioche seems to be the bun of choice for upscale burgers these days.

Adds a lot of calories. Other than that, no drawback.

I tend to like a more sturdy bun... Brioche can almost disintegrate as you try to eat the burger. Anthony Bourdain was against them on burgers, for that reason.

That said, I put the burger on whatever bun the queen wants, and she wanted brioche.

Spent Fri/Sat in Colorado. My mom's doing a lot better. She's been moved from the hospital back to a SNF and she's already lost a good 20+ lbs of the 40 lbs of fluid weight that she had gained. After a very scary time about two weeks ago, I feel like we're out of the woods. Given her many health issues, I don't know how much longer she'll be with us, but at least the impending threat is no more.

Only got to spend about 1 1/2 hours with her on Fri, and 2 1/2 on Sat, as she has limited energy right now. So that meant that my wife and I got to spend the rest of the time taking care of my dad, who has been under obviously a ton of stress. I think we did a good job of keeping his mind off of everything.

On Sat night we decided to cook for him, and my sister and her family showed up too. We bought everything we needed for quite a meal, and then I went to go light my dad's grill... And saw about 4 hornet nests in the grill as soon as I lifted the lid... That was... unexpected. I guess he hadn't used the grill in quite some time.

So after burning the hell out of some hornet nests, and dodging hornets as I grilled tri tip and corn on the cob for esquites, we ended up with quite a feast.

Plied my dad with more wine than mom would ever let him have lol, and I think he appreciated a weekend to just be taken care of.

Good to see both my mom and dad, who I haven't seen since Dec 2019 before the pandemic. Good to see my sister and her family, who I haven't seen since Oct 2018.

If it's possible, the plan is to put together a party for my parents 50th anniversary next April. So hopefully my mom uses that as motivation for her PT...

It's as bad as the Facebook 'news' headlines.
I'm proud to say that I no longer know who in the hell they're talking about "wore a daring leopard print bikini" or whatever.  I don't care.  No one cares.  Wait - no one of substance cares.  FFS.

Oooo, the Spun is like extra hot fire garbage. And even worst, the husk of what was once SI now lends its name to that crap. Sad damn state.

I've never spiced a meal with Hornets, but always a first time for things.
