. . . Neither party is catering to the prudent citizens of the country.  No news outlet is telling it like it is.  And no one who should be in power seeks it out. . . .

Here's another oddity, Sweden has not experiened this recent surge at all.  India is way down.  I can't explain either.  Spain is clearly dropping now, the UK dropped some and then went flat, France APPEARS to have peaked, but that is early.

Florida is still going up apparently, so is GA.

I'm not picking up a lot of news about it locally, no warnings about hospitals, yet.

The thing about "man in the street" interviews is you never know how many interviews were taken and what percentage was shown.

Obviously much lower stakes, but when I was in 5th grade, my buddy and I rode our bikes over to the high school to try and kick field goals on the HS field.  We were unaware that the teachers were voting to end what was the longest teacher strike in Ann Arbor history (I think it was 2 weeks at that point)

There were news trucks everywhere, so we rode over to see what was up.  One of the reporters grabbed us for a statement, and I said something like "well, we have to make up all the days anyway, so I'd rather just go back now, so we still get winter break."  He screamed "no school again forever!"  Only one of us was on the news, guess which one?

Man on the street interviews are among our silliest television news traditions. Also to a degree print news.

It’s literally just a measure of who wants to go on camera. Talking to folks on the street can have a modest degree of value. But often it’s just to check a box.

I love it when they go to a coffee shop in a small conservative  town and are shocked when they get conservative views
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

And then they act startled that conservative views even exist, despite the fact that roughly half the country's population votes conservative in every presidential election.

Wow Garth Brooks can still sell out a 90K stadium?  That's pretty impressive.

First time I saw him was at a free show he did outside the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park in Dallas immediately following the TX-OU game in 1990, and I saw him twice in Austin over the next few years.  He always put on a great show.  Loved to play Billy Joel covers back when, probably still does.
