Trump/Cuomo 2024 Presented by Cyber Ninjas
They'd win the rural women vote, somehow.

It is the Dawg Days of summer here, sultry, a word I like.  Highs in the low 90s with humidity in the mid60s.  It's 72°F right now and 74°F in Cincy, which I like seeing for some obscure reason.  I recall thinking if I had to use the AC on the drive to work it would be "hot".

I prefer the dew point report, something that I suppose folks find confusing, but it combines T and RH usefully in my view.  A DP of 70 or more is really bad.  The other factor of course is wind speed, even a gentle breeze helps in the shade quite a bit.  These heat index things are not very useful to me.  "Feels like" is BS.

1.  Yes, it really does.  First of its kind.  Will it be the last?  I sure hope so.
You may want to revise that opinion. The US Capital building as been attacked on a number of occasions, with the most recent prior to Jan 6, being in 1983 by a leftist group protesting military action in Lebanon and Grenada.

Good morning.

A coffee and a few casts before starting the work day. If you zoom in you can actually see me on the dock.

as you know, heat index = "feels like" uses dew point and wind speed and a few other measurements

Yeah, I don't find the algorithm to be accurate at all.  Same with wind chill.  I think wind speed has a greater impact on "feels like" than they use.

A 30°F day with 15 mph wind is a lot worse, to me, than a 15°F day with no wind.

What is ‘feels like’ temperature? | Official blog of the Met Office news team

We calculate a ‘feels like temperature by taking into account the expected air temperature, relative humidity and the strength of the wind at around 5 feet (the typical height of an human face) combined with our understanding of how heat is lost from the human body during cold and windy days.

yes, they changed the wind chill calculation a decade or two ago

thankfully, now it doesn't feel nearly as cold in NW Iowa during the winter

Funny stuff.
“ you’re embarrassing POTUS was way worse than mine”

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E79w7fNPgl8
That's just the tip of the iceberg. That's when he was running. He's worse now and he gets worse by the day. Go back and watch old videos of the do nothing politician who was in the senate for nearly 40 years and accomplished nothing of note- and you'll see a very different person. The dude is like 80 years old now and clearly has dementia. It's very sad to see and it's embarrassing to the entire nation.

they will be back in a little over 3 years

I just hope we are still a democracy by then
we've never had democracy. we have an illusional of democracy. the us is a constitutional representative republic. that isn't going to change any time soon. can't have the people actually vote & decide on issues directly because: oh no that would be bad for the elites! Carlin was 100% right when he said, America is a country club- and you ain't in it.

I am far more concerned about censorship and our constitutional rights being eroded slowly but surely, and the illegal monopolies which have captured the government and increasingly wield enormous power over the lives of everyday citizens in this country. We have anti-trust laws on the books for a reason. Yet the government does nothing to enforce these laws. In fact they do the opposite and approve every massive merger and acquisition that comes down the pike. We desperately need another Teddy Roosevelt who will smash them up.

I couldnt agree more on this.  I strongly feel that the dems will lose the house in 2022 and have hope the new guys will fix this.  At least that my hope

320:

Don't you think that we are a stronger democracy today than we were on January 6th?
January 6th is more hyped up than Notre Dame or Michigan football combined. People need to put that to rest already. Most significant non-event in US history. Find it hilarious that Mrs. Defund the Police herself- AOC- as well as two other members of "THE SQUAD!" voted present instead of voting NO- which allowed a $2 billion funding increase to the Capitol Police to pass through the house by 1 vote.

As if the federal gov't & the bureaucracy wasn't hideous and bloated enough- they are now throwing $2 BILLION more to Policing and trying to turn the Capitol Police into a national agency and open offices in other states.

So in conclusion- AOC is cool with spending billions on police for herself- but hey your neighborhoods and your kids neighborhoods- DEFUND THAT SHIT.

LOL, well you are right, Trump did break people's brains. Other leaders treated him like a joke, but I guess the fantasy that he was tough and other people just cowered in fear is appealing, though the reality had a lot more Yakety Sax in the background. Leaders just laughed behind his back, laughed in his face, and he just had to take it, because he never had much idea what was going on. The country was a worldwide laughingstock for four years, and even now he sends out press releases that read like a four year old wrote them.

So, hey, the idea that Biden calling someone Jennifer is embarrassing is a cute trot in the time machine back when we had some standards. But those standards are gone and I doubt they will ever come back.
You clearly don't follow the news cycle as much as you think you do. There was wide reporting on Trump bullying Europe and it's leaders- from every news outlet you can think of. Not one of them hit back to him to his face- the worst they could do is talk about him behind his back- because they were ineffective cowards as leaders. May got ousted, Merkel's time is about up now, and Macron has a revolt on his hands from his own citizens and it's just a matter of time before they give him the boot.

https://europeansting.com/2019/06/03/trumps-america-divides-the-world-bullies-china-and-europe/

And honestly- it was about f*kn time a politician from the US started throwing their dick around to Europe and China. Trump was 100% right when he railed at EU nations like Germany for not spending dick on NATO and letting the US pay for their security for decades- only for Germany to increasingly buy from Russia/China and not buy US energy and other goods & services & products from US companies.

And again- Biden doesn't just mispronounce names- the guy is a senile driveling dementia case at this point. That's what is embarassing- not him mispronouncing a few names here or there.
