Texas State Fair runs from the end of September to middle of October  Weather in Dallas is usuallbly pretty nice for it.  TX-OU is almost always on the second Saturday of October, and the State Fair of Texas is an incredible backdrop for it.  There's really nothing else like it, not in American sports at least.  It's amazing.

Definitely crowded and overpriced, but my kids love it and as long as they want our family to go there and make memories, we'll be doing it for them.
For me, it's the Fair more than the Cotton Bowl, per se, that makes the site of the OU-Texas game as special as it is.

I can't think of a concert or game or any single event where I'd fork over $430 to attend in person.

I had thoughts about attending the UGA-ND game in SB,  the ticket prices bounced around a lot, but the low was about $230, and then went through the roof.

$430?

That would have to be a conference champ game or national title game for me

The most money I have ever spent on a ticket to a sporting event was $145, and that was at the Vancouver Olympics 11 years ago.

I spend around $350 per seat for Formula 1 tickets.  That's for the entire weekend, all support races plus practice and qualifying, not just one day or event.

I no longer have UT season tickets but when I did, the most expensive face value ticket was for TX-OU which was about $125, three years ago.

I spent about $270 to see UGA-Bama in the SEC CG, just me going.

I've spent over $200 two other times, had fun.  Would not spend $430 for anything I can imagine, maybe if Mozart came back to life.

I did spend that for two tickets about to see Yo Yo Ma this fall.  Something about keeping the wife happy.  She's really pretty easy to keep happy.

don't remember what I spent for the Big 10 Champ game in 2012, but it wasn't worth it

the Nebraska/Michigan game in Lincoln will be a game time decision depending on price

I spent $150 for good seats at the 1995 Orange Bowl to see Osborne win his first title.  Adjusted for inflation was probably the most I've spent.  It was worth it.

I paid around $150 for a ticket to the 2002 Rose bowl.  Could have scalped a ticket for $100 for a much better seat.

I saw the Hamilton production they put on Disney+ last year.  It was good, I enjoyed it.  But I certainly wouldn't feel the need to spend over $400 to see it live in a theater.

I might spend $300 to see UGA in an NC game if it were local or driveable, but there is little threat of that happening.

Our symphony season tickets are pricey for six concerts.
