I don't like fairs.

Stinky, crowded, always in the middle of the hot summer, overpriced, sh!tty rides, etc.

Nothing redeeming about them.

Texas State Fair runs from the end of September to middle of October  Weather in Dallas is usuallbly pretty nice for it.  TX-OU is almost always on the second Saturday of October, and the State Fair of Texas is an incredible backdrop for it.  There's really nothing else like it, not in American sports at least.  It's amazing.

Definitely crowded and overpriced, but my kids love it and as long as they want our family to go there and make memories, we'll be doing it for them.

I had never heard of this, or forgot about it.  Which is more probably perhaps.

Attractions are said to include:

  • pig races
  • white tiger display
  • petting zoo
  • Lady Houdini
  • Jurassic Kingdom dinosaur show
  • magic show
  • hypnotist show
  • Wolves of the World show
  • Hollywood Circus performances
  • pony rides ($7 each)
  • puppet shows
  • animal shows
  • Universal Championship Wrestling
Visit the Georgia State Fair website.

I might buy that at MB stadium, which has ultra low food prices for such a venue.

  • Hot Dog: $1.50 (was $2)
  • Pretzel Bites: $4.50 (was $5)
  • ATL Bud Burger: $7.50 (was $8)
  • Ice Cream Waffle Cone: $4.50 (was $5)
  • Chips and Salsa: $2.50 (was $3)

Commie - back in the day when we were an Agrarian Society it was quite the to do. It'd be nice to find Dorothy & Toto to take you back to Kansas or Aunt Bee,Andy & Opie back to Mayberry or the Walton's back to the Mountain.......

Here's a better link: https://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2021/08/these-are-the-drunkest-states-in-america-ranked/.

I wonder if home-distilled spirits escaped the data.  West Virginia looks suspiciously low.
Evidently a bunch of my buddies quit drinking - slackers

The wife bought three tickets to Hamilton . holy cow.  Daughter is coming down for my Bday.  Not a cheap present at all.

Can't be worth that.

I fear I will be the same, I didn't want to go, but the daughter wanted to see it.  I guess it's a "thing".  I get a sense folks wants to gloat about seeing it at parties often as not (not the wife).  It's highly trendy, and highly expensive.  I've paid a couple hundred to see a couple football games, but these tickets are over double that.  The wife siggested I wear wear plugs, I gather it's loud.
