I once did until a friend had me do a blind taste test.  Cheap vodka is awful.

The Kirkland is cheaper than Tito's and arguably is better.  Works for me.
When Tito's first started sponsoring our tailgate party, I did a bunch of blind taste tests alongside their reps, that involved Tito's and many of the other top international brands including Grey Goose, Smirnoff, Absolut, and Skyy (which was a very popular American brand at the time).

The vast majority of people couldn't tell any noticeable difference.  And that's when it's neat.  Chill it and/or mix it, and whatever mild flavor differences there are, become completely undetectable.

Edit: I'll add, that super-cheap stuff like Popov in a plastic 1.75 handle, were not part of the blind taste test. Tito had zero interest in associating with such  a brand.  So I suppose it's possible that THAT stuff tastes noticeably different, and noticeably worse.  I really couldn't say, I'm pretty sure I haven't had that stuff since college and even then, it was just as a cheap booze additive to trashcan punch.

In my mind, to put it in proper terms for a EE like 94...

Wine/Beer/Whiskey is analog. Signal quality is important, and is on a quality spectrum. Every one is different. There's a difference between an 89 point wine and a 92 point wine. There are all sorts of gradations in the product, and those gradations can be discerned.

Vodka is digital. You either get a reliable signal that you can decode, or you get garbage. Above a certain quality level, there's basically no difference. Below that certain quality level... You don't want to drink it whether it's straight or mixed. Either way is a hangover waiting to happen.

The goal is of course a neutral spirit. Some don't meet the goal lol...

Ha!

OK, I'll buy that.

And like I said, we didn't have any Popov or similar, in the mix.

But even stated in your terms, it makes any snobbery going on between devotees of Grey Goose or advocates of Absolut, a little bit silly.

And then of course there's the flavored vodkas, of which gin is perhaps the very first one ever made. :)

Unconscious and upside down.
I remember at one frat party folks squirting wine from a goat skin bag about 10 feet to try and hit my mouth

one of the worst hangovers of my career the next day

I haven't slurped it off someone's ass crack, but I haven't had the right opportunity to this point

I've been drinking Deep Eddy, Round Rock and Prairie these days. Can't find the latter two down here. Yet.

I still go for Tito's when it's on sale, but the above three are just as good or better. Round Rock is probably the better of the lot.

Round Rock

Texas?

Yeah, after Tito's had so much success, several more distilleries popped up around Austin and Texas.  Deep Eddy is the name of an Austin landmark-- a very old, well-fed swimming pool just outside of downtown Austin, the oldest swimming pool in Texas-- and their distillery is in South Austin.  Round Rock is, I guess, named after the town.  But it looks like their operations are out of Houston.
