Atlanta: The city that keeps changing America | CNN Travel

A weird article in my view, omits some rather more important items of information, but whatever.

And the best fried chicken is NOT at Mary Mac's, which is walking distance from us.  It's not bad, and it's a sort of landmark, but it's far from the best.

I'd vote for the Korean place near us, Mukja.

Not nearly ths points I would make pro and con for the city, but whatever.

Best fried chicken I've ever had was at Puckett's in Franklin TN. There is one in Nash Vegas too, but always packed and hard to get in.

Yup, best I've ever had was out of my grandma's pressure cooker.  Just unbelievably tender and juicy.

The best I ever had was at Greenwoods in Roswell north of Atlanta, but he closed his place.  The Korean place is excellent as is hattie B's Nashville style.  That's a small chain of course but they do it right, and are packed.

Shawn at Mukja told me fried chicken is in fact really big in Korea.  He uses really high quality chicken and ultra hot grease and great breading.  A quarter bird and beer is $15.  He has Korean beers in cans, I tried one called "Cloud", it was pretty good.

The ramen place has karagee chicken which is superb also, Silverlake Ramen, which also is a small chain.  The Asians are stealing our chicken.

This is probably just my perception, but for some reason it seems like there are a large number of landmark type restaurants in Atlanta that aren’t very good, and that reputation seams to really over shadow tons of really good restaurants in Atlanta. I’m sure that happens everywhere, but it just seem incredibly true in that city.
