I think less Fox news and less CNN is better for everyone

This cute, affable Shriner's Hospital kid is great and all, but he's been at it for a few years now.  I think he's going to pull through.

I'm a moron because I don't believe in your fantasy tale.  Now that's brilliant!

For the umteenth time I'm not religious.

I'm also not a big enough d-bag to use someone's coping mechanism for a serious disease as a platform from which to broadcast my d-baggery from the mountain tops.

To each their own.

It's d-baggery to want as many adults to believe as many true things as possible and disbelieve as many false things as possible.  Got it.

Because you don't care.  Because you willfully cherish this little blind spot that's impervious to reason or just sheer logic.  Go ask an atheist in Texas how it feels when law after law is passed, based on the bye-bull.  Tell them to be apathetic about it.
Yeah but we're not talking about a law passed in Texas. We're talking about Mark Richt. He spoke of religion because it's important to him. It has nothing to do with you and yet you honed in on it. Why?

As Jefferson said, "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket, nor breaks my leg."

I'm also an atheist. If someone is trying to use the force of law to push their religious beliefs in violation of your freedom, I'll stand right beside you and fight.

If someone is just saying that they believe that their eternal soul will go to a happy place when they die, I'll be silent. I'm not going to convince them otherwise and it's kind of an a*****e behavior to demean them for it.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

So in these last few posts, I'm an asshole, against Jefferson, and against the constitution.  Except that I'm not.  Richt is never going to read my words or care what I say.  So he's unharmed.  Jefferson was confident that he'd done enough to separate church and state - and while he should have done enough, evidently he didn't.  He couldn't have foreseen the radicalized law-making going on today (mainly state by state).  He wouldn't fathom his neighbor being something like a Texas legislator voting to make an abortion virtually impossible to get, despite it being a totally legal act.
.
And I don't think there should be any legislation against religion, just that people stop making an exception for it.  It's childish.  Embarrassing.
We're all freely allowed to eat applesauce from our belly buttons, but it doesn't mean we should do it.
