That’s golf.  38 on the front today, 46 on the back.   Hard course.

golf is so mental

one of the mind tricks I used to play was to tell myself I got a free shot off of every tee box

and I only had to par the hole from where my 1st shot ended up

I immediately cut 5 strokes off my avg score

One of the big mistakes a novice golfer makes is putting too much pressure on themselves

this little mind game helped take the pressure off

I read a bit about CRT, what I read is all over the map, but SOME of it closely resembles what I endured at work.

I was involved for ten years with recruiting, there was certainly major discrimination there on the basis of race and sex.  One year, there were two blacks in the country with the degree required, and our goal was to hire both of them, sight unseen.  One year we were told no white males would be invited for on site visits, not one.  Our hiring targets were typically 30-90 each year.

We had diversity training each year because each VP had to put on his perf eval he provided diversity training.  He'd tell his admin to find something out there and have at it.  If they did not meet their diversity targets in hiring, they would lose stock options.

My closest friend at work was from South Africa, had red hair and freckles, his parents were Brits.  We discovered at one of these meetings about targets that the Company counted him as African American.  He was furious and wanted it changed but I managed to talk him out of that.  It was good for his career.

It's a number game, and those numbers impacted senior management's stock options at the end of the year.  It wasn't hidden at all.  I recall circa 1995 we were told Asians no longer counted for "diversity" and there was a collective groan from the audience.  At least Asian women still counted.

I'm sorry that your company example of sample size one did these poor ideas.

HB, your attitude seems to rely on people alive now having some sort of behavioral connection of their ancestors.
When slavery is taught, it's that white people (mostly) bought and sold black people (mostly) and that it was wrong.  It was common place back then, but it was obviously wrong.  We should avoid doing wrong things moving forward (as we have, largely) since slavery ended.
.
It has nothing to do with anyone alive today, aside from all people should avoid doing the wrong thing.
Same as teaching that ancient Greeks believed a god rode the sun across the sky.  That was incorrect.  Here is what IS correct.
Same as teaching standards that being in kindergarten and continue up to middle school, adding in content, context, and usage.  Teach that there are seasons, teach the traits of each season, how people dress differently in each season, moving on to why there are seasons, that seasons are opposite in each hemisphere, etc, and onto how farmers plant in a certain season and harvest in another, how battles in the past often paused during winter, etc... and so on.
.
Sorry, we're not indoctrinating 6 year-olds with white guilt.  Go preach crazy elsewhere, please.

I would put a teacher in the ICU if I found out that they were teaching my kids to be ashamed of their own heritage.

Right! They didn't care. Here, the VP needs better stock options, go hire a guy for some low level position and by the way here are a qualifications that will make this impossible.

It's basically cover for the overall practices to make for good p.r. and keep them off of federal radars. I'm always amazed at the ability of black people to put up with this utter foolishness, watching this charade.

Its not only conservatives against CRT

across this nation people of all races are speaking out against it

Two of those there sources are conservatives. One seems to have indeterminate politics.

One thing that is clear is that more than being a real threat to much, it's a great boogey man. It's such a good boogeyman that previous boogeymen, cancel culture and repressing speech, are now being used to cancel and repress it. All in all, it feels like a moving target to direct anger toward some folks rather than seek places to build common bonds.

Backwards.    As usual.  Your boogeyman- the one that some districts are teaching/ or want to/ is the fake concept of white guilt.

Just because you and Fro are hiding under the covers from that mystical, non existent talking point- good luck getting the rest of us to.
