as usual the old folks are slow to the party

when I was in school you could get drunk off just the fumes in the student section

the only difference is now the school will be making money off it

might just as well sell weed and make the transition complete
agreed on all counts

I'm fine with Nebraska not selling alcohol in the stadium.  They have enough money to win and anyone that wants to drink in the stadium can find a way

I would be fine with not selling alcohol in the stadium period.

I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about not being able to buy beer in stadium. It may be a Minnesota/NFL thing. Isn't the whole point to tailgate and get loaded beforehand?

It wasn't for me toward the end. I didn't want a hangover at half time, so I waited until we got back to the postgame tailgate.

I'm really good at catching up too.

You know, when I was younger (and cheaper) the "getting loaded beforehand" strategy was a big thing, rather than paying $10 (or more) for a beer inside a stadium. Purdue pretty much always had noon kickoffs, so we were set up with kegs on Slayter Hill before 9 AM and you could get pretty hammered by kickoff, and have enough booze in your system to ride you all the way through the game from there.

But my life has changed. It's no longer about getting loaded at all, maybe just getting a nice warm buzz. I like to have a beer while I'm watching a game, and while I still think the prices are outrageous, I am now in a place in my life where I can afford to pay them.

I believe this is what kids these days refer to as "adulting"...

I don't think I've ever bought a beer at any athletic event.

There is a nice little Meze restaurant near us I like, but the beer is $7 per class for Peroni.  Too much for me.  The wife likes lighter beers, like 420.

Of course markups on wine are obscene usually as well.  A good restaurant tries to break even on food and make profit on alcohol.

Same here.  Not nearly as much pre-gaming as I get older, but I also like to enjoy a beer or two during the game, and I have no problem with the prices, because I can afford it.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced Thursday that Texas will build a border wall along the state’s boundary with Mexico but gave no details on where or when.

I was scrolling to find the article that showed the PAC would not have had a team in the 12-team playoff last season and this popped up.............

I hope the people rise up again against this nonsense. I have no problem with private sector unions, but to make it forced is just not right.

I agree on both, I presume they wanted to stand out, or something.  I think BMW has lost its way, the two series might still be a Bimmer.  But, they were building credible sports sedans and may have noticed 99% of US drivers drive them like they would an Accord (which is a nice car, I'm not knocking it, but if you have a car that handles well you probably should push it a bit at times).  And if you only need an Accord, buy an Accord.  I can't think of a reason to buy a RWD car if you aren't going to push it some.

FWD is just fine for most folks for an automobile.  And they have tuned out a lot of the oversteer.
