It was all kicked off by cooking, yes. Not the opposite plumbing.

I put some shrimp shells down the disposal. That clogged. Then the disposal stopped. So I started working on getting into the PVC pipes under the sink to fix it. And broke the strainer of the other side of the sink trying to move pipes. So suddenly I needed to replace that strainer too...
Stick to cooking here... and write checks for plumbing.

Why not use the shells to make a stock?!?

Interesting thought... I keep some beef/pork bones from time to time to use in soup. I haven't messed much with making other stocks.

This was 1 1/4 lb of shrimp so probably not enough to make much stock. But maybe if I'm doing a big shrimp cook for a crowd I might harvest those shells for a stock.

How come it seems like nobody but me thinks of "black lives matter" every time there is a mass shooting or a drive by or child killed in Chicago?

That to me is far more disturbing.
I can tell it bothers you so.
Gang vs gang violence doesn't involve someone tasked with protecting and serving.

This line of thinking pretends like police officers aren't to be held to a higher standard, which they obviously should.
Blue lives matter, too, but again, it's just another fake retort.

It'd be nice if they could stop shooting unarmed people, wouldn't it?  It'd be really nice if they got more than 4 minuties of training each year, too.

I once tried to make stock out of shells, but it ended up being rather metallic and bitter.  Someone said I should have used .45 ACP instead of .357 though.

Freeze them until you need them. Lobster, crab, mussels, clams - any shell. I combine. I can post a recipe in the appropriate place if you like.

I have a kitchen outlet with both red and green lights on.  Pushing the reset button does nothing.  Is it screwed up?

Do you believe the police shoot unarmed people often?  If so, how often?  We'd like the figure to be zero, but obviously that is impractical, though perhaps it could be reduced.

My guess is most cops really don't want to shoot anyone.

Do you know what percentage are unarmed when they are shot?

It's not high, but I'm guessing you don't know. Fortunately, I've done the research for you.

Data is from the Washington Post. Police killings from 2015-2020:

Yes. It needs to be replaced. Go to Home Depot and get a new one - probably 20 amp if it's in the kitchen, but check your circuit board. Turn off the circuit and replace. 10 minute job.

Not often at all, hardly ever.
I understand it in a scuffle - if you're knocked out or someone grabs your gun, you have to act like you'll be killed.
But aren't the cases where someone is at a distance and/or running away and committed a minor crime the kind where the number could be zero police kills?  In the vastness that is crime statistics, isn't the guy getting away better than murdering them?
Seems like that's how our court system is designed, why not police behaviors?
And if you really want to get riled up, look up how little these people are trained.  It defies logic.

Do you guys think it's weird that they televise radio shows?  They've been doing it for awhile now.

There's so much ground to cover across cable sports channels that turning radio shows into TV shows works great as live filler that can be sold to advertisers. Back when Mike & Mike began TV simulcasting as far back as 2005 on ESPN2 (on the heels of Stern and Imus simulcasting), ESPN's goal was to load up on advertisers like Subway that could be charged far more for TV time than on radio. Because higher dollars came into play, TV simulcasting noticeably gave radio shows a much more corporate, filtered tone overnight. Today's simulcasters hammer away at the same 10 - 12 tired topics year round whereas before, when they were radio-only everybody was more entertainingly all over the place and often outside the bounds of sports.

I know it's not high.  Who said it was?  I just mentioned it as the least police could do.  Stop acting like EVERY interaction is life-and-death because it isn't.

I had a buddy in Columbus that put everything down the disposal. I advised him that he out to just throw it in the trash instead, and he scoffed. A week later his sink was backed up with sludge, and he had to get it snaked.

I also had a roommate once that refused to shave over a trash can instead of a sink, so it was always getting clogged. Generally these things are easily avoidable by minimizing the crap that you put down the drain.
