There was a brief window in the mid 20-ots where tennis skirts and thong underwear were both in fashion simultaneously, so that every time there was a little gust of wind...

That's what the celery sticks and ranch count towards:  salad.
I literally just had some celery/carrot sticks with a 1/4 of my deli sammich - that were consumed proper - over the kitchen sink

The only cow in a small town in Ireland stopped giving milk. Then the town folk found they could buy a cow in Scotland quite cheaply. So, they brought the cow over from Scotland . It was absolutely wonderful.
It produced lots of milk every day and everyone was happy.

They bought a bull to mate with the cow to get more cows so they'd never have to worry about their milk supply again. They put the bull in the pasture with the cow but whenever the bull tried to mount the cow, the cow would move away. No matter what approach the bull tried, the cow would move away from the bull and he was never able to do the deed.

The people were very upset and decided to go to the Vet, who was very wise, tell him what was happening and ask his advice. "Whenever the bull tries to mount our cow, she moves away.

If he approaches from the back, she moves forward. When he approaches her from the front, she backs off. If he attempts it from the one side, she walks away to the other side."

The Vet rubbed his chin thoughtfully and pondered this before asking,

"Did you by chance, buy this cow in Scotland ?"

The people were dumbfounded, since no one had ever mentioned that they had brought the cow over from Scotland ..
"You are truly a wise Vet,"  they said.

"How did you know we got the cow from Scotland ?
The Vet replied with a distant look in his eye:

"My wife's from Scotland "

So after buying the wine fridge, we had a wine rack that we were looking to get rid of. Probably could have sold it, but we put out the feelers to see if any of our family/friends wanted it, and found a taker, one of my wife's friends.

So last night I loaded it (66"H x 15"W x 15"D) into the back of the Flex and my wife took it to her office which was a more convenient handoff point.

Well, guess who didn't inform us that they drove a Honda Accord? And guess what car it won't fit into?

Wouldn't it have been good to confirm this previously? :smiley_confused1:

The funny thing is that my wife was all worried whether or not it would fit in the Flex. Of course it will! Hell, I didn't make a point of it, but it would have fit in her RX350.

We never even thought to ask if he'd known whether it would fit in the car. (Perhaps it's sexist that we didn't think to ask, because he's a dude?)

Apparently he took it apart and got it to fit... Which would sound fine if he'd brought his own tools that would suggest planning had occurred... But he had to borrow a screwdriver from my wife's office to do it...

As Badge would say, PoA...

Over the years I've sold a lot of stuff on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc.

I always list the dimensions, and tell people what kind of vehicle they'll need to move it.  If it's large and heavy, I always tell them in the ad to bring help, because I'm not going to do it.  And when I confirm a sale by phone or text, I always do the same.

Only once has it worked out weirdly, when a lady showed up to pick up two large dressers I was selling, in a-- you guessed it-- Honda Accord.  When she showed up she said, "Oh, I guess those won't fit."  I was like, "Uhhh, yup."

She said she had a friend with a truck and asked me if I would hold it for her.  I said she could do whatever she wanted with the furniture after she paid me.  So she sort of grudgingly agreed to pay me, and then took off.  Came back a few hours later with a friend with a small SUV and not a truck, and I was skeptical, but sure enough, they fit.  Of course her friend was an even tinier lady than she was, so I ended up helping them load it.

But surprisingly, that's the only time out of a few dozen that things went weird.

I was impressed that I could help a lady friend move a loveseat in my Jeep.  That was the limit, lengthwise, though.

My grandfather had a knack for making just about anything fit in his little K car and Plymouth Acclaim.

A true MOPAR man then, it seems? :)

My grandfather loved Chryslers.  He loved the BIG luxury Chryslers, more specifically.  Whatever was the biggest Chrysler equivalent to the biggest Cadillac being made, that's what he'd drive.  Several years worth of Chrysler 5th Avenues, and then a bunch of other ones that I don't recall.  Always with the largest engine, too, of course.

The wife tells me about trips to the beach she took with her four kids in an Austin Mini back in the day, loaded to the gills, in France, the old Cooper.

the neighbors (mom, and two boys) and my mother and my brother and myself would pile into a VW Bug back in the 60's to drive 30 minutes to the sand pit for some good swimming and sunbathing

had to blow up the inflatables on-site
