it could have been my traveling partner on that trip or...

it may have been that my expectations were too high or...

No. South Florida is the only place to live there. Some of the nicest places in the entire country. 

The panhandle is a boring white trash toothless redneck shit hole that might as well be Alabama, Tampa is an armpit and most of the west coast of Florida sucks. Orlando is nothing but giant shopping malls, giant theme parks, and awful food with nothing but chain restaurants in the middle of the state with no beaches, Jacksonville is a literal dump, and the rest of the state is just empty farmland with cow f**king inbred hillbilly white trash. Kind of like most states in this country. Only small pockets of where it’s nice to live, the rest kind of sucks.

Where did you go, out of curiosity?

I found the French quarter to be fine. Kind of grungy and sticky. But the Bywater and the Garden District and some of the neighborhoods are actually quite nice.

SW Florida is very nice. From Syracuse to Marco there are no armpits, with a few exceptions, just like there are on the SE. Clearwater is very nice.

Today I noticed a humming noise coming from my TV

at first I thought the noise was from my air conditioners but after investigating found that not to be the case

so back to the TV

I tried lowering the contrast and changing volume settings

and the noise would come and go but always came back

I tried restarting the TV and unplugging various stuff I have connected to the TV

no change

it was driving me crazy

after missing with this for a while I walked to the kitchen and noticed the noise was coming from 

a stack of boxes I had

I opened one box and found an old battery powered radio and although it was turned off was making the humming noise

I took the batteries out of it and the noise stopped

That damn radio was not only the source of the noise but was transmitting it to my TV speakers

I need a beer

Ok 320, but you do realize that 94 and I are both electrical engineers, and what you're proposing is--to all known theories of radiated emissions--impossible.
