They did, but also took away probably half. Since 1987, that would not happen.

I always assumed that was just Florida nature trying to take it back.

Disney put many pieces of their land under the watch of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation and the South Florida Water Management District as conservation easements. Many portions remain as a wetland.

Disney World is an impressive piece of work.  The entire area is its own self governed municipality.  Walt Disney himself petitioned the Florida Legislature to give his land almost total autonomy.  He got it too.  The area is officially known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District.  It's functions completely on its own.  Any service it doesn't provide itself, it contracts out (such as police).

The only areas where the district had to submit to the county and state would be property taxes and elevator inspections.

When it's inevitably under a foot of water, they can just lay down some track and the whole park will be like "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Inevitably?  When?

We go out to dinner, I find a decent looking place, we get seated, ready to order, and wait.  After fifteen minutes, we just leave, no service.

Orlando won't be underwater soon, to claim otherwise is ignorant.

DC might be.  This place is near sea level, has tidal pools.

Not really.

How soon will sea level get to about 100-120 feet?

Jeez.

Volkswagen accidentally posted a press release on its website a month early on Monday announcing a new name for its U.S. operations, Voltswagen of America, emphasizing the German automaker’s electric vehicle efforts.

A spokesman for the company declined to comment on the release, which was dated April 29 and has since been taken down.

A person familiar with the company’s plans confirmed the authenticity of the release to CNBC. They asked to remain anonymous because the plans were not meant to be public yet.
