I think I'm probably an overly nostalgic person. I miss Sears.  When I was a kid, it was a wonderland that had everything.

(Including the "toughskin" jeans my mom made me wear because they were less expensive but had double-reinforced knees that were tougher for me to wear through)

I also miss McDonald's with the outside playground that had this:

Across the street was the baseball park for the Atlanta Crackers minor league team (and the Atlanta Black Crackers as well).  In center field, in play, was a magnolia tree that is still there.  The rest is a strip mall in effect with a Home Depot and Whole Foods and whatnot.

Atlanta Stadium was built in 1965 for $16 million.  It cost $64 million to tear it down and cart it away.  MB Stadium cost $1.5 billion, 100x.

Some of that playground equipment was fun....unless you lived where it was hot.  That Hamburgler or Mayor McCheese thing is all-metal and it would burn the shit out of you in the summer.

As I and many others predicted crude oil prices continue to rise

at $66/barrel from $45/barrel Nov 2020

They are at a current 2 year high and still going up

Good job President Biden you'll have this country on its knees in no time

On the flipside, I've got a friend that owns multiple wells on his ranch in South Texas.  They stop pumping when oil gets below about $60/barrel because it's not worth it for them.  Now, they're going to be raking in the money again.  When he's rolling in the dough, he always pays off some ridiculous tabs at mega-expensive bars and restaurants for me and some other close friends, so I'd expect to start getting some invites from him soon. :)

I inherited several oil royalty wells from my parents

and yes my monthly checks have increased

unfortunately many joe six packs wont see any benefit
