It's not much of an issue now because EVs far more often are used to drive 50 miles in a day, or so.

Range anxiety becomes a factor for long trips.  For me personally, if I drive 300 miles, I'm ready for lunch or something.  Initial cost is still an issue.
Yeah, on long trips, I'm one extreme or the other.....take breaks whenever, no hurry OR only pee/eat when filling up for gas straight through.

When I was young, and cars were a new thing, I spent some time every three months changing the oil, checking fluids, maybe replacing a belt, etc.  I spent a fair bit of time once a year doing a tuneup, on that car it was a 2-3 hour job.  I'd replace shocks every 5-6 years, tires about the same maybe sooner.

I haven't worked on a car in decades.  Mine needs an oil change once a year and that's it, for a long time.  "We" once spent a fair bit of time on our cars.  Every filling station had a lift and mechanic, nearly.  Now if you change the oil and use synthetic, they can go 6-7-8 years with no other maintenance.

I'm not a fan of fuel cells in cars.

And the other issue with flying cars is air space safety.  We'd need them to be autonomous now for that to work.  Trying to navigate in a plane on your own is entertaining, without GPS.

Pffft, we got flying cars 6 years ago, didn't we?

Make some soup - delicious
my uncle has served snapping turtle 5 or 6 ways.  I think the soup is the best, but I wouldn't consider it delicious

I have no doubt the charging tech is good now and will be great, but I have less doubt about the masses being impatient.
.
The time it takes (or will take) to charge a car is perfectly acceptable in a vacuum, but when people are used to filling up their car with gas in 3 minutes, then a half hour to charge it becomes a problem.
Well, there are other issues.

I contend that for anyone with the capability of charging at home, there's no issue at all.

The problem is that the US home ownership rate is only 65%. That leaves 35% of the population without the ability to install a home charger. That includes me, for example. I could certainly go BEV and I even have a garage, but my slumlord landlord isn't going to put a Level 2 charger in his rental property. So even if I was in the BEV market right now, I wouldn't do it until I own my own home.

That 65% also probably includes folks like CD who live in posh condo towers... While his tower probably already has EV charging, people who own condos or townhomes that fit into that 65% may be in situations where they don't have secure garages, and only have carports. Not to mention that portions of that 65% who are in single family homes don't have garages at all, and only have street parking.

Right now a BEV is a luxury good and primarily owned by people who have the capability to charge at home... In order to go "down market" the home charging infrastructure will need to mature.

Still, I view all of this as more likely than battery swaps, especially since the charging infrastructure will grow slowly over time incrementally with the growth of BEV, so it's not a "chicken & egg" problem.

My condo tower isn't notably posh nor much of a tower and we're just now installing a few chargers.  The  building is 32 years old.  Nearly all the new apartment buildings have chargers in their garages.  The Whole Food near us has four parking places with chargers, I see them fairly often around town.

The thing about our condo is it's right on the park.  Everything else on the park is either older (much) or apartments a block or three away.  And everything nearly has "park" in the name even two blocks away.

My doctor wanted to move here but he has a Tesla.  He asked me about charging being added.  We rarely have anything for sale in the building.

My next car will probably be an EV (or just use Uber, haven't done the math on that).  Or a C8.

One environmental scientist argues that deforestation is not always harmful for the planet. Christopher A. Williams, a professor at Clark University's Graduate School of Geography (Worcester, Massachusetts), says that instead of warming up the Earth, deforestation can actually cool it down.

But some experts are concerned that Williams' work is likely to be misconstrued as permission to continue deforesting, which is not his intention.

It's widely accepted that our existing forests are vital carbon sinks, and the best course of action is to stop deforestation, while rewilding and reforesting areas already lost.

Deforestation contributes to climate change, can cause wildfires, desertification, soil erosion and most of all - releases huge amounts of carbon dioxide which causes global warming.

But there’s that word - ‘warming’.

While the above may be true, Williams’ new research argues that there are two factors we are not acknowledging: the significance of location and something known as ‘the albedo effect’.

I kind of doubt that how would they prove it?They haven't had check stations set up since the bronze age.On the hottest summer days walk under my 2 oaks and one maple and it's markedly cooler.More trees across the creek in the park and it'much cooler when the breeze blows
