That only works if whoever told you is more trustworthy than 60 minutes, lol.
They probably have good sessions and bad.  I have seen some very blatantly bad ones in my time.  The one about Audi unintended acceleration was clearly a  made up story where they fabricated the results.  They had another about the Bradley fighting vehicle that was WAY over the top as well.  I quit watching around that time, it was clear to me they contrive a story and fit the facts to the story, they don't have time to research a story, realize they were wrong, and find something else.

You guys are funny, talking about facebook like that.  If you think it's bad, check out twitter.  It's the ultimate cesspool.  It's basically the most vile comments from a  youtube video transmorphing itself into news.  Facebook is for old people now and twitter is the current platform for people to see what's happening in the world...while wading in knee-deep sewage.
.
And then there's reddit, which is like the worst people alive have taken truth serum and share EVERYTHING horrible they've witnessed or done themeselves.
.
And there's twitch, which you really won't like if you don't like young people expecting money for doing nothing.  Most of it is girls in bikini tops playing video games as men watch and hand their money over.

"We the poeple" are really pretty disgusting.  Hance my lack of respect and optimism about "the masses."

I've seen twitter.  Certainly have no interest in that nonsense and anyone that chooses to consume their "news" via that platform deserves to be ill-informed and have nonsensical opinions.

As for gamer girls on twitch, well, that's not my thing but I just look at it in economic terms as market efficiency.

My take on Facebook partly is that for most people, it is not something that improves their life. For some that's because it's impossible to take their eyes off the political portion of it. For others it creates an impression that others are living their best life--and they're not. For many they feel forced into being "Facebook friends" with relatives that they actually don't have anything in common with, and it causes familial drama when sometimes it would be better to just not engage.

On top of that, everyone on FB or Instagram asks for chronological posting--but they can't allow that because it reduces engagement. If you know that you're caught up, then you'll put down the app for a few hours at least. If you never know whether you're going to be missing something, people get into the idea that they have to refresh it constantly lest they miss something. Facebook tries to claim that their algorithm is showing them the best content, but it's all about not letting people know whether they're up to date or not, so they get addicted to it.

That's before you get into anything about promoting/hiding specific content, which is a whole different issue.

If you can keep your sanity and emotional well-being and be on Facebook, then good for you. It makes me angry to get on it, so I don't. The only thing I use it for is Messenger, and I'm thinking about deleting it entirely.

Yeah I see some people that can't handle it.

Most people I know, find it useful for trading information on their kids and general goings-on.  That's about all I ever use it for.  My experience has been almost entirely positive, I've been lucky enough to connect with people I genuinely like, that I hadn't interacted with in years.  I find value there.

Like I said, anyone that posts more than maybe about 5% political stuff, I just unfollow.  Keeps it very clean.

it's basically Viacom trash operated/owned by the heirs of the late billionaire Sumner Redstone. I believe his daughter is now the CEO and all of his kid have a hand in running it. It's not news.

Scary shit here.

U.S. intelligence officials say Chinese government is collecting Americans' DNA - 60 Minutes - CBS News
U.S. intelligence officials say Chinese government is collecting Americans' DNA - 60 Minutes - CBS News
60 minutes is trash- and any time "US intelligence officials" are leaking something to the mainstream corporate media- you can 90+% of the time immediately call bullshit on it.

The greatest "misinformation/disinformation" campaigns don't came from twitter or facebook. They come from the mainstream news which has become completely infiltrated by US intelligence. The large media corporations work with the state- not against them. Never forget that.

I imagine some 60 Minutes shows are fine.  I don't watch.  I just wouldn't trust their message without checking independently.

And that headline is not supported by the actual article.

Too few people use the "hide" option on FB.  You don't unfriend them, and they're not notified in any way....you just stop seeing their posts.  I only see people's posts that aren't infuriating or ignorant thanks to it.
.
I began my Whoa Nellie game on FB and it's done well there, but it would absolutely spread further on Twitter, but I'm not familiar enough with it to avoid all the muck.

I'd reflect on it and consider if my game was bad for society.
