Current incarnations of the 250s/2500s ride like dump trucks across all brands.  I test drove them all, both gassers and diesels, before I settled on the F150 with the 3.5L twin turbo EB engine.  It's been a great compromise for a daily driver that also does some pretty significant towing occasionally.

Obviously I have no idea what the 2035 2500s will feel like. :)
Obviously you haven't ridden in a real dump truck for a few years ;)

Elizabeth Warren aka Pocahontas aka fake ass populist- publicly releases a letter she sent to the SEC where she- wait for it- kinda pretty much calls to protect the hedge funds.

This is a shocker to some people for some odd reason. Warren has never been on the side of the "little guy". Warren is nothing but a grandstanding phony. It's what she's always been. It amazes me she was ever hyped/sold/packaged as part of "the left". She used to be a republican until she was like 47 and she lied about being Native American for her entire life for god sakes.

the economic impact of switching from gasoline to electric has not been fully presented IMHO

what are the additional electricity usage cost from having to recharge batteries

what will replace the state and federal taxes on gasoline

is this going to be cheaper for the US or more expensive

So, I looked it up..........

In 2017, 80.4 million workers age 16 and older in the United States were paid at hourly rates, representing 58.3 percent of all wage and salary workers. Among those paid by the hour, 542,000 workers earned exactly the prevailing federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. About 1.3 million had wages below the federal minimum. Together, these 1.8 million workers with wages at or below the federal minimum made up 2.3 percent of all hourly paid workers.

1.8 million out of 320 million Americans

https://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/minimum-wage/2017/home.htm#:~:text=In%202017%2C%2080.4%20million%20workers,wage%20of%20%247.25%20per%20hour.

what many folks dont realize is that wages are not only increased to bring workers up to the minimum wage amount but workers already making the minimum wage amount or close to it will also have to be increased for moral purposes

LOL. My next car is definitely going to be a Tesla. Their brand new Plaid+ Model S sedan is freaking gorgeous and has a 590 mile range on full charge, does 200mph and goes 0-60 in 1.99 seconds. Only problem is fully loaded it's about $156k.
But think of how much you'll save in gas!

I'm much more interested in seeing how this affects the petro-dollar and the US dollar being the reserve currency of the world.

Let's imagine by 2035 that say 75% of sales of NEW cars and light trucks are fully EVs, that could be a rough estimate.  The percentage of EVs on the road would be say 40%, and growing.  I've read various estimates, but we'd need about 15-20% more electrical power to the grid, at night anyway.  At night.

That's doable, normally, but our overall demand for electric power is growing as well, along with GDP basically, or close to that.  So you'd need more wind power, much more, just to stay even, not able to shutter coal and NG production plants.  You can scribble the math on a napkin and it isn't good.

yep and all you folks that think you will be saving by not using gasoline need to know that the state and federal gov will get that gas tax revenue some way
