The corporate/state media - it's always been this way. Internet has finally just allowed people to expose it.  Which is why they are crying to censor the internet.

Naked short-selling Hedgie assholes are down $20 billion on GameStop this month alone. JEEBUS.

People in general are not for censoring the Internet of opinions

Expressing our opinions is protected by the Constitution

Its only special interests that want to censor certain opinions from the internet

my brain is just fine no change is needed

are there folks out there who cant cope with adverse opinions - yes

but there will always be those folks
Respectfully, 320, I don't think you're fully getting the point that I'm making.

As the old saying goes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but they are NOT entitled to their own facts.

We all know that yellow and blue make green, right?

Well, you have one group of people who, through the way they were raised, through their social circles, through their carefully-curated news sources and social media, have constructed a filter that they wear over their eyes that only allow them to see yellow, and blocks all blue. This isn't a pair of glasses they can easily take off, it's something that has been ingrained to be a part of their core identity--it informs them on everything they see in the world and shows the yellow and hides the blue.

Then, you have another group of people who, through the way they were raised, through their social circles, through their carefully-curated news sources and social media, have constructed a filter that they wear over their eyes that only allow them to see blue, and blocks all yellow. Again, this isn't a pair of glasses they can easily take off, it's something that has been ingrained to be a part of their core identity--it informs them on everything they see in the world and shows the blue and hides the yellow.

Now, they're brought together and faced with identifying the color of a bundle of broccoli. The yellow filters all say it's yellow and the blue filters all say it's blue. They're fundamentally incapable of seeing that it's green, and further they can't even understand that the opposite group doesn't see what they see. "There must be something defective in the other group", they exclaim, without realizing that they're just as guilty.

These aren't opinions. To each group, seeing the world in yellow or blue is fact, not opinion. That is the reality under which they live, which they have constructed around themselves.

In America (heck, in the entire world), we need to be a society. There are aspect of society that require working together, and require agreement on certain basic facts. They require both sides to exist in the same reality.

Sadly, today the two sides exist in very different, and mutually exclusive, realities. Therefore they are INCAPABLE of working together because they can't agree on the most fundamental basics of the world that they're looking at.

That's my worry. We can't have a society if we don't live in the same reality, and I see no way to get people back into a single--right or wrong--reality.

I would be kinda screwed if they censored the internet. I don't even really watch MSNBC, Fox, or CNN anymore. Only when I feel like a laugh, I do. I have to admit though- from time to time- it's incredibly rare- they do have a good segment here or there- but most of the time it's completely by accident- usually when they invite someone on who says something the hosts didn't think that guest would say and then the hosts act all dumbfounded and try to push back but then just wind up looking like the morons and sell-outs that they are.

My question for the GME / AMC crowd is what is their endgame?

Had I gotten wind of this in December, and rolled in with $500 or $1000 when the stock was under $10/share, my thought would be to ride the wave up to and including the moment I thought it might crest, and then GTFO.

But I see people that I swear are talking about riding this thing the whole way down just to stick it to the man. Probably a bunch of them that didn't buy in an <$10 prices, but at >$100 prices. And some of them are talking about this like holding for the long term, despite the losses, is valiant...

I don't get it. They hammered the hedge funds. Shouldn't they be getting out now to save themselves?

No. The hedge funds are still shorting this thing. Some are even doubling down on their short bets. My guess is the end game is to keep the squeeze going and drive the hedge funds still shorting this thing into the dirt like the hedge funds who dangerously and excessively shorted GME were trying to drive GME stock into the dirt.

I told you Melvin and the others were full of shit when they reported they were out of their short positions. It would've been literally impossible. There were more shares shorted than actually f####king exist. There has only been an 8% dip in short interest in the last week- which means this thing is still over 100% shorted. And most of that short covering occured when- YESTERDAY- when Robinhood and a bunch of other retails FORCED sales of GME and wouldn't let their customers buy.

so Robinhood announced last night they were going to let their customers buy GME again. Well, about an hour ago they just limited share buying of GME to two shares. After the asshole hedgies are down about $8 billion on GME today alone.

It is literally disgusting how rigged/corrupt this entire economy/political system/country is.

Some of the hedge funds are out, but their positions have been taken over by other shorts.

Sanity will eventually prevail of course at some point, trees don't grow to the sky.  I wouldn't short it, but I'd buy puts or do a straddle.

Ok, so with the stock at $280/share, where does it go? As you unroll all the rest of those shorts, is that going to continue driving the price up?

How long can this take and what's the risk to the buyers?

As stated, if I'd gotten in early I'd have gotten out by now. And I wouldn't dare enter now because there's just too much downside risk IMHO.

Yet I'm reading stories of people taking out mortgages to buy GME, which just seems like insanity.

I was in Vegas once at a Black Jack table.  The guy beside me commented he was way down and was just trying to get enough money back to buy gas to get home to Montana.

anyway all of a sudden his luck changed and he couldnt lose he had thousands of dollars of chips in front of him

I leaned over and said congratulations now you can get back to Montana with a little extra

He just looked at me and said he couldnt quit during a winning streak

That guy sat there and lost it all back

some folks just dont know when its time to get out
