I don’t know what kind of kicking game Washington has but I don’t get passing up a 42 yard fg to go for it on 4th and 6 on the first possession of the game.  Overly aggressive a la Dana Holgorsen.

I have not ever understood the fascination with neutral site games in college football. I at least understand a little bit during the regular season, where teams can do a one off and split the profits. But why have a game somewhere where no one will attend?

It's kind of the worst possible scenario, with the only two teams that aren't even in bordering states. 
If it was an Ohio team vs a Michigan team like it should be, then there'd be a decent atmosphere.

The Pac 12 also has two teams from non-bordering states. 
Luckily the Big Ten has two teams from bordering states. So that one should be okay. 
The SEC and Big XII each have one in-state team and one team from a bordering state. 
The ACC has a team from a bordering state and a team from a non-bordering state.

Same, you take so much that is unique and special about college football and strip it away.  At that point you are just watching an NFL game, but a worse version, with even less atmosphere.  Granted still less canned music than Beaver Stadium.
