Nebraska. Not because I didn't like it at the time, and still, but because it opened the flood gates.
The previous moves all made geographical sense, and it was either independents joining a conference (FSU/PSU), or teams moving up from the clear lowest conference on the totem pole. I think Nebraska's move, in retrospect, opened the door for everyone to get into the best conference they could, for football, all else be damned
