probably the most delfating 25 point win I've ever seen.
Quick thoughts:
Great points, and at the risk of overlap I’ll make a few of my own:
The OL was disorganized at first, BUT I thought they got it together as the game went on.
Though they were effective, the RB stable is frail. Does Harbaugh bother to recruit bulkier power backs? These guys are all so scattish. And you see how they eventually get knocked out of the game. Will a Samuel-Wilson tandom succeed against WIS & MSU in a few weeks? And how is it that in four years of Harbaugh an undersized walk-on is the difference maker at RB?
And speaking of WIS & MSU, Michigan’s schedule doesn’t seem quite so hard with mainly those two teams losing to lesser opponents. In other words UM might be able to take more advantage of the WIS, MSU, PSU, OSU gauntlet.
And finally, Shea is really good. Excellent at evading the pass rush, knowing when to run, finding who’s open, and most of all, an excellent downfield passer. My frustration is that it took until the second half for the coaches to let him loose. They are so fixated on getting a running game going with undersized RBs that they lose sight of having what would be a balanced offense if they bothered to rely on a passing game earlier. It’s like they have to force their running game to fail before they consider shifting to passing.
