seems like the refs in Ryan Day's pocket agreed that it was a hit to the facemask
Well if they'd cut his pay like M did to Booger the Bucks woulda had more cap space to pay the bastages off

There should be consequences for egregiously bad calls.  There should be a lot of things in life that aren't.

People should be smarter.
Kinda thin out the ranks around here wouldn't it?

Sorry, but i think that's ridiculous. Although the rule isn't perfect and I still don't understand how it went from incomplete to targeting and complete, but targeting should be in place to protect against hits to the head and neck. Reese went high and followed through high. May not have been helmet to helmet, but shoulder and arm to helmet, but he forcefully went at the helmet and followed through excessively at the helmet.

I don't think it was a dirty play and I think there should be levels of targeting.. Like dirty, you're ejected and miss a game.. not dirty, but clearly a lapse of judgment like this and definitely a high hit and you're tagged with 15 years and maybe done for this specific game. But to have this happen, go to review and it's determined it's targeting, just to come back the next day and have it reversed is a beyond stupid system.

I understand that. Though as a rules nerd I wouldn't mind an explanation. Per the OSU statement the B1G said they asked the NCAA for a ruling or determination. I thought they were a little generous to say he was a defenseless player since they also said he caught the ball and he clearly sees the hit coming and adjusts his body for it. Or they could say he didn't really make forcible contact to his head or neck. The reverse angle makes it look like he aiming at his shoulder.

That's football not targeting,It is a stupid system the reviews should be made in the booth not the sidelines - this is easily remedied.

Well it was Texas and everything's bigger there including the debris field  :)

Completely agree with everything you said and most specifically this. I didn't think he was defenseless, but i also don't want to see force and follow through up high. A deeper explanation would have helped a lot in multiple ways, including the fumble/incomplete/catch. I think that's the worst part is not having clear guidance.

They cleaned it up incredibly quickly.  All the cheerleaders and dance team and other folks on the sideline jumped in there, and it was gone in under 2 minutes.  I was pretty impressed.

Heck, even Matthew McConaghy was picking up water bottles.
