Army-Wake is much more entertaining than I expected.

Not that I'm an 'Stros fan - the beer or team but nice to see Boston teams going down

McNamara got away with what should've been a surefire INT.

I remember Tressel replacing Todd Boeckman (who led the team to a national championship appearance the year before) with Terrelle Pryor. He said he remembered what Woody Hayes said, "if you have a big gun, use it."
Then he used him for 15 throws. 11 carries, though.

I think this kind of dynamic is interesting.

Like, I get that coaches want guys who better know what they're doing. And I'm also growing more dubious of the idea that you take a good talent, load him up with reps and it just happens. I feel like a lot of teams have done this of late. In some cases it's awesome, but a lot of the time, a kid takes lumps and he ends up just like a Cade. Decent, functions well in a winning program. Isn't going to special you to many wins. (Or worse because the kid is getting knocked around, confused and crushed on social media)

The flip side is that if a talented kid doesn't get work, sometimes he's just out. Cade has two more years after this, so if JJ is gonna be good, Cade is gonna have to get benched at some point. Might as well gas up the fans as part of it.
They clearly believe in JJ- because they burned his redshirt and they keep giving him snaps in every single game. In the very few snaps he's had he's shown real flashes. The deep ball for a TD he threw vs Western and the deep ball he threw for a TD vs Wisconsin were by far the best deep balls a Michigan QB has thrown all-season long. And they were against the 1st team defenses of Western/Wisconsin.

At some point they need to give JJ a shot. I don't think Cade is a bad player. He's just not very good. He's a serviceable game-manager and he'd be a hell of a back-up QB for a program that wants to be elite. If you have a guy like Cade as your back-up- you're good.

At some point- they will HAVE to give JJ McCarthy a shot. Why not now? And if JJ wasn't ready to play- then why the HELL did you burn his redshirt and give him snaps in every single game this year?

OU's defense is an absolute sieve.
yeah- but hasn't their defense kinda always sucked since Lincoln Riley has been there?

One of those throws was maybe the best toss I've ever seen. Like, I'm a scheme and talent dork and that thing was unreal.

EDIT: I forgot the RS part. There are many things we know, but there is zero way that kid is getting to a fifth year in Ann Arbor. If he's a fifth year, it means he disappointed and transferred. Even if he settled into being a Cade-type player, he'd leave earlier just with that arm.

It fixed for a minutes, and is now bad again.

They should kick the FG here and the REST OF THE ENTIRE GAME- PLAY JJ AND LET HIM THROW THE DAMN BALL.
