I'll Take My Badger Served Boiled (SOC 10/23/21)

It's feeling frosty out there! I used the fireplace last night for the first time all year while watching Dune. I'm not sure about the movie, but the fire was great. I have to run around all day - drop my wife's car off at the shop, drive down to Circleville to meet my parents and pick up my heathen kids, take them to some sort of spooky thing at their school. Luckily the Buckeyes don't play until the evening slot.

  • Noon, Illinois at #7 Penn State, ABC
  • 3 pm, Wisconsin at #25 Purdue, BTN
  • 3:30, Maryland at Minnesota, ESPN2
  • 7:30, #5 Ohio State at Indiana, ABC
Others
  • #16 Wake Forest at Army, noon, CBSSN
  • #8 Okie State at Iowa State, 3:30, FOX
  • #10 Oregon at UCLA, 3:30, ABC
  • LSU at #12 Ole Miss, 3:30, CBS
  • Clemson at #23 Pitt, 3:30, ESPN
  • Tennessee at #4 Alabama, 7 pm, ESPN
  • #22 San Diego St at Air Force, 7 pm, CBSSN

Full day.  What’s on the menu Sam?

Leaving now -leading a community/ company Cancer walk and fund raiser

Should be home in time for noon games.

Feeling burgers on the grill with all the fixings.

It's 50°F here this AM. which is about a record low since last winter I suspect.  We have a concert tonight but fortunately there aren't many games worth watching today.  The weather should be near perfect.  We'll go to the local farmer's market that comes to the park each Saturday and probably buy nothing.  There is a nice Italian spot the wife likes called Grana we may do for lunch, they have an excellent outdoor terrace on the roof.

It's nice to be home, actually, traveling is fine and interesting but I prefer being home in the main.  I woke up at 5 AM and suddenly all sorts of "issues" popped into my head so I got up and made coffee and checked on those issues, none of them serious, and most were not really issues it turns out, things like whether my property tax was really paid or not (it was) and whether I paid some CC bill or not and what happened to those Discover gift cards I ordered?  I did get a letter from the IRS saying they received my response at least and they need more time, which is OK I guess.

I loathe E Trade.

Not sure - with all the running probably something easy. Chicken quesadillas always a good choice and pretty sure I have everything I need around here.

Lots of frost on the pumpkins here in MSP. First hard freeze of the season in the city was last night.

While we all acknowledge that there is no better trophy in all of college football than Floyd of Rosedale, we will be contesting the River Flats Cup for the 4th time today. It's the greatest trophy in bucket sports. In the event any of you are around the Twin Cities around 9:00, y'all should come down to East River Flats Park and toss some buckets.

This is the Gophers first 230PM local time start of the season.

As for the Gophers, Maryland is a team that the Gophers have had problems with for the duration of PJ'S tenure. I think we win, but have a lot of troubles with.

In Florida this weekend visiting my dad.  We are headed to the beach this morning so my wife can tan and my dad and I can find a bar nearby to watch the early games.

Did something new this morning. Ran a half marathon distance. Did not think that was anything I would ever do.

Don't plan on leaving the house today, except to walk the dog, and already did that. Watching gameday at UCLA and they're whining that there's actually water in the air, falling from the sky, in SoCal. It's mist, fellas, you won't melt.

Tonight is burgers. Current planned side dish is deep fried onion strings. But my wife may pivot on that as they're a pain in the ass. Could end up with corn on the cob and/or tater tots.

Lovin' the title of this thread.

I'm working overtime today, but got someone to cover for me at 3:00 so I can bounce out and catch Purdue vs Wisconsin.

It was perfect weather in my part of Florida last night.  Broke out the fire pit for the first time and took a swim in the pool.  Threw some steaks on the grill with baked potato and corn on the cob.

Leftover chicken and bacon quesadilla for breakfast this morning.  Got some chicken quarters marinated in a Brazilian steakhouse type mixture going on the grill tonight.

The cursed streak ends today!  Boiler Up.
