The chips come with the salsa and the salsa is the soup.

Hell yes. But, at Portillo's I get the cheeseburger.

Plenty of mom and pop Beef joints that do it better.

Portillos opened locations around Central and Southwest Florida.  That's why I was asking.
Its been a while since I've had a good Chicago sandwich.  Gonna hit the one in Orlando up next time I'm out there.

Tampa's a bit too far to go for a Beef. Hopefully they will look at Fort Myers. But, I'll probably hit the Tampa one when we decide to make the trip back. Not sure when we are going yet.

My FB feed is now barraging me for ads to buy steaks and fish eggs.

I suppose had I an aquarium I could plant the eggs and grow fish, or something.

My most memorable dining experience was when we were in San Francisco a couple years ago. We ate at Epic Steakhouse that evening and this was our exact view. I had a prime New York Strip which was amazing and au gratin brussel sprouts. The sprouts might have been my favorite part of the meal. I finished it up with a glass of a super high quality port which to this day is the smoothest I have ever had. I love me a nice glass of port and this stuff was amazing. It's no longer on their menu so I can't be sure what it was.

They opened a Portillo's on the northeast side of Indy not long ago. We went once and I was not impressed. Won't be back. It just wasn't very good.

I think you are the first person I've known to not like Portillo's. Maybe they had a bad day.

This recipe is one I've made before, and it's REALLY freakin' good...

I had some sort of italian beef sandwich. It was cold and the bread was soggy.
