I looked at the first 5 guys and thought "uh oh, it's an NFL list...."

Suh was much more impressive in college than the NFL

Yeah, I have zero issue with him as #1

Reed and Donald seem to be the only ones in the T10 that don't really have a great case, certainly not on my inner circle, acknowledging you could probably get T10 votes for about 20 guys.

Uhh, Aaron Donald was a legit dude in college.
He won the Outland, Lombardi, Nagurski, and Bednarik awards in 2013.  Name another guy who did that.  Yeah, Suh.  Who else?

I guess I have an issue with Mack being that high.  Yeah, he was great in college, but strength of schedule matters if you're a LB, too.

How could strength of schedule impact how good of a player you are?

I'm sure it's an amalgamation of eye test, stats, team success, and NFL rep.  But 15 sacks vs MAC foes and 15 sacks vs B1G foes is a very different resume.

If it was about how good they were, Sean Taylor wouldn't be behind Jim Leonhard, lol.

Would a great LB from Buffalo be in the top 5 if his NFL career stunk though?  I don't think anyone can reasonably make that case.
.
If I can differentiate Emmitt Smith's probable top-10 career SEC rusher career and his NFL all-time leading rusher career, then people can do it for other players, too.
.
But yeah, for lists like these, you could take every group of 20 players and randomize them and no one would be able to tell you did that.

love arenas, but he doesn't belong on this list, especially above bama guys like mosley, hightower, mcclain, kirkpatrick (not fitz, who is on rightly there), milliner, barron, robinson, foster, payne, dareus, just guys off top of my head. obviously not all will fit into this list, but some of them should. and a few, like mosley, mcclain and dareus have a solid argument to be near the top. odd not 1 bama lb made it, and that's probably our deepest position on our decade of teams built on being the top d in cfb.

if arenas is on any list, it should be top return specialists.

It is hard to separate the college and pro careers of guys, especially if you don't follow them that much. JJ Watt isn't in the list, and he will walk into the NFL Hall of Fame, and I remember him putting the Buckeyes in a body bag, but it's not like I watched every game he was in.

Also, never forget Butch Jones wouldn't let him play defensive end.

This seems contradictory.  Do you mean if you didn't follow them that much in college?

Yes, I specifically noticed the lack of an Alabama LB or a Florida DB on the list.  Actually, a shortage of CBs in general.
