On Wednesday morning the College Baseball Foundation named Nebraska's Spencer Schwellenbach as the 2021 recipient of the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award.

The award was started in 2010 and Schwellenbach is the first Husker to be honored with the trophy. Former Husker Jake Meyers was a finalist for the award in 2017, but lost to three-time winner Brendan McKay from Louisville.

The award is named for the former Washington State standout who achieved success both as a first baseman and left-handed pitcher during the late 1980s and who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. The award will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation during the virtual Night of Champions event on June 26.

Winners in the winner's bracket, losers go to the loser's bracket.

Bout the same as usual.

In 2019 Game 1 in Omaha was 6/15.  In 2018, it was 6/16.  In 2017, it was 6/17.  2016 it was 6/18.

Apparently there were rumors of a beer shortage at the CWS in Omaha?

But not to worry, city officials say there's plenty of local brewers that should be able to make up for any decrease in shipments from the big guys.

I'd count that as a win for everyone!

This is America sir. We have a beautiful and robust transportation network. Were there any shortage, great fleet would depart from across the land, mostly probably Wisconsin.
