I went Paris Johnson Jr. I know he played guard last year- but call it a hunch....have a feeling the dude is going to be seamless in the move to T and be the best one in the whole league.

Same, Paris Johnson Jr: Most pass block snaps played (461) among Big Ten Guards last year without allowing a sack

Fair choice.  I went with Dawand Jones.  I think he showed a lot of promise last year and although he gave up a few sacks, he was a mauler in the run game and I think he's going to take another big step this year.

PFF said he had the 8th best run-blocking grade and 40th best pass-blocking grade last year.

Jones should've been the one playing guard instead of tackle rather than PJ Jr imo. Jones is a better run blocker than pass blocker, and I think Hutchinson and Ojabo kinda exposed him in terms of his pass blocking. He seemed to really struggle vs those elite pass rushers. Hutch should've been the #1 pick though and Ojabo was a surefire top 15-20 pick before the achilles injury a month and a half before the draft- so maybe it's judging Jones too harshly- those are elite college players and NFL prospects he was facing off vs.

I think PJJ will probably have a fine season.  I'm just not sold that pass blocking at guard is going to fully translate to the outside.

Perhaps, but Jones looked 110% like a guard to me. I think if OSU had been exposed on that perimeter a little bit sooner, Day would have realized that

Really?  Are there a lot of 6'8 guards?  I think getting him on the field is why they moved things around on the line including Munford to guard.  If he could play guard, they would've put Jones there and left Munford at tackle.

I just looked up that Robert Gallery is the tallest guard in NFL history at 6'7.  And he was a mega bust.

Interesting, I didn't realize he performed much better at guard later in his career.

well, when you have that much invested in a player, you try to find a spot

I never would've guessed he had an 8 year pro career.  Glad he was able to salvage something.

I'd guess he's not the only tackle to move to guard and extend an NFL career

I think they're pretty good at that in Madison Wisconsin with college careers
