Really nice group. Taylor is Taylor and Dobbins is quite good beyond the bad YPC last year.

But Corbin at 8.5 a carry, McFarland at 7.9, the IU kid. Shoot, Ibrahim had 1160 at 5.7 and isn’t an option yet.

Went with Taylor. Obvious choice. Don’t think there’s a position this clear cut in the entire league.

This is one of those "nobody ever got fired for buying IBM" moments. Nobody will be laughed at for choosing Taylor, and anyone who chooses someone else will look very silly if they're wrong.

I voted Taylor. I could see a number of other players who might supersede him over the course of the year and prove more valuable as 1st team. But none of them have anywhere near as clear-cut of a path path to it than him, so he's the easy choice.

Taylor has a very realistic shot at breaking the all-time rushing record this year. He's a junior. Think about that.

The record is currently held by Pumphrey from SDSU, at 6,405, including bowl games. Ron Dayne actually has far more yards (7,125) but the NCAA didn't include bowl games at that time.

Anyway, Taylor has 4,171 right now, after two seasons. He needs 2,235 this year to break the record. He had 2,194 last year.

Can we all stipulate that season and career records of nearly all types deserve a fair amount of qualification.   12, 13, 14, some 15 game seasons now vs, 10, 11, and 12 for most of modern era.

The all-time rushing record should be yards per game average with a minimum number of games.  For a career, the minimum should be at least 25.

More importantly, the fact that the NCAA has allowed stats from bowl games to not count during a stretch of time when stats are universally available makes so little sense, that something is amiss.  Someone, somewhere, has caused that decision based on ulterior motives.  There is no other explanation for it, whatsoever.

Taylor made Bruce Feldman’s freaks list and reportedly ran a 4.3.

My god I hope he stays healthy.
