I noticed that Top Ten Beaches changes every year quite a bit. I figure somebody is "paying" to be on the list, or not.
Top 100 BBA places in the US is probably based on some Facebook poll or something akin to that just to get some names. Some barely known but very good out of the way place wouldn't have a chance. Then they might randomize the rankings a bit, or not.
Top 50 sports movies, which I just saw, obviously is just their opinion intended to get clicks.\
I noticed long back that Consumer Reports would give different ratings to cars like the Chevy Nova and Pontiac that was the same car for things like rust or suspension or whatever when there was no difference. The engines were different. There were a lot of parallel cars made during that period that would show up with rather different rankings. It made me suspicious, then I read later about how they evaluate laundry detergents, it was a joke, very amateurish, which is to be expected of course.
I stopped paying CR any attention.
