I haven't been to a Hooters in decades and am not likely to return again.  I dimly recall their food as being "bar food", which in general I avoid.  The sports bars near me are ... well, boring to me.  I go on occasion if the Dawgs are playing Charleston Southern, and it's an OK time (they usually win those games).  It's a bit interesting to see which other teams' fans are there, I usually go to a smallish one, so you have 2-3 groups depending.  The food is edible.  The beer is rather pricey.  Duh.

The large on across the street is ... large, they advert over 100 beers on tap which is a waste for me.  They have multiple TVs in the bathrooms, I don't know how many in main dining.  It's too large and noisy for my tastes and their food is boring.

There is a new one that I haven't tried, I poked my nose in and scanned their menu, they had really loud music blaring at the time.  It's adjacent to a noddle place we do like.  Then there is a cigar bar with a lot of TVs, and a restaurant adjoining.  We went in once and looked around, it's really swanky, but with cigars ...  It seems to cater to African Americans, which is fine with me.  I'm not sure how they get a license for folks to smoke.  I surmise athletes and movie folks often go there, maybe.

Going with "other."  Hooky/JG (RIP) used to want to go to a place called Bikinis in Austin when I met him for lunch.  Met him there a number of times.  I don't know how much of a chain it is, but there was more than one in Austin, and San Marcos had one as well.  For no other reason than memories of shooting the breeze with the Storyteller himself, Bikinis has the fondest memories for me.

Don't remember the food, the girls were pretty cute.

Hooky was fond of those types - met him at Bone Daddy's many times

the last time I saw Hooky was for lunch at the Ojos Locos Sports Cantina in Austin.
had a great time
I'll always remember walking out of that place to head to the golf course - there was a purple Lambo parked in the lot

Can't remember the Mexican restaurant we used to meet at, but it wasn't Ojos Locos.  @utee94 might know, I think Hooky said it was a favorite of his.  The place I'm thinking of was more like a mom and pop Mexican food place, not a place with chicks shoving their bare thighs in your face.  That, and Bikinis, were the two places we used to meet for lunch.  I never had the heart to tell him I was sick to death of Mexican food, he'd get so excited about going.

Slick hated Hooters because he was adamantly against panty hose.

Not sure which Mexican place, maybe Enchiladas Y Mas?  That's certainly my favorite in town.  It's a run-down hole-in-the-wall, owned by the cousin and nieces of the original owner who sold it within the family a few years back.

I remember that!

It was funny when he got into it with KStateLady on that topic, circa 2005 or so.

Never been to Twin Peaks.

Tilted Kilt had better food than Hooters and the girls were hotter, but the Hooters uniform is a lot more iconic.

In Nevada the casinos double as breastaurants, with all the cocktail waitresses bouncing about.

Which is your least favorite breastaurant?

I'd rather have decent food and solid service.
This is so true.

Short story from when I was in Law School:
After class on Friday nights we would go out for drinks/dinner (I went to night school so we weren't broke college students, we all had professional jobs).  One of the first places we tried was a local bar/restaurant that clearly was modeling their marketing on the "Breastaurant" model as referenced in the thread title.  The girls all wore VERY tight white shirts and VERY tight black pants/shorts/skirts and they are pretty much all VERY attractive.

So far, so good.  The problem was that it quickly became obvious that whoever hired the staff was primarily concerned with how good they looked in the uniform and didn't seem to care in the least if they could actually, ya know, wait a table.  The girls were super cute and the "uniform" was super skimpy but that doesn't make up for not getting drinks or food.

I recall a couple of places that don't QUITE fall into the category. There was a place called Earl's which is a SMALL chain in the Denver area, and a place called Moxie's which is a chain in Canada.

Both were a little more like what @medinabuckeye1 is saying, in that the "uniform" was basically the little black dress. Classy in a way that Twin Peaks / Hooters / Tilted Kilt never were, but still in a small way a "breastaurant". So it was the kind of place that you could take a customer out to a business lunch, and yet not feel like you were doing something skeezy.

That said, I recall in both places the service was typically quite good, and the food was solid too.

I've had poor service as often in other places as I have in breastaurants
the same law applies to tips and service

attractive young ladies as servers didn't start with Hooters - they just decided to be VERY open about it

I will say that I never had anything but excellent service at Hooters.  I haven't been in years (decades?) but when we were going there regularly in college and post-college, the servers were incredibly attentive and always on their game.  They wanted those tips and worked extra hard for them.

Our crew of guys went there pretty regularly, including almost every Monday night for Monday Night Football, and ALL of our girlfriends really loved the place, because the service was so good.  They didn't care that the waitresses wore tight clothes, they just liked the service.

And personally, perhaps it's an unpopular opinion but I much preferred their breaded wings, to the naked kind that I guess true Buffalo wings are supposed to be.
