What does everybody erybody think?  Is it time to proclaim Indiana the best team in the country?  My rankings are in a post below.

1. Ohio St -  has dominated in every Big Ten game,  including wins over Wash and ILL.  Plus a good ooc win against Texas

2.  Indiana- completely demolishes UCLA at home just like they did to ILL earlier.  Indiana has impressive wins on road at Iowa and at Oregon.  Only thing missing is a good ooc win.

3.  Oregon - Ducks looked vulnerable in win against Wisconsin.  The offense may not be as good this year as in years past.  But Oregon has had some dominating wins on the road,  which is not easy in BigTen Country.  Kinda of a Jeckl and Hyde team.  Great one week.  Not so great the next.

4.  USC -  Trojans have looked unbeatable at home and very beatable on the road.  Interesting test for USC is coming at Nebraska.

5.  Iowa - was up 31-0 on Minn early in 2Q and Iowa cruised the rest of the way.  Iowa continues to score 30+ points a game while the QB only throws for 130 yards.  Hawkeyes have figured out the formula for winning with defense, special teams, and gasp! a running QB.  Only BigTen loss so far was to Indiana by 5 points.

6.  Michigan - solid win in rival game against MSU.  Mich has previous win over Wash but bad loss at USC

7.  Washington - looked impressive in solid win over Illinois.  Previous losses are to Ohio St and Mich.

8.  Illinois - defense is letting Illinois down in big games.  Losses are to Ind, Ohio St, and Wash

At this point it becomes murky.

9.  Minnesota -  has 2 really bad, bad losses to Ohio St and Iowa,  but also has a victory over Nebraska

10.  Nebraska - pulled out a close win over NW at home

11.  Northwestern - close loss to Neb but has beat UCLA and PSU

12.  UCLA -  did the Bruins turn back into a pumpkin against Indiana after previously winning 3 in a row?

13.  Penn St -  what to do with PSU?  4 losses are in 2OT to Oregon,  by 5 @UCLA,  by 1 to NW and,  and by 1 @Iowa.  All my instincts say they should be higher,  but the results speak for themselves.

14.  Maryland -  close losses to Neb, Wash and UCLA but only win is against Wisconsin

15. Rutgers - no longer winless in BigTen with close win over Purdue

16.  Purdue -  still winless in BigTen but close losses to Rut and Minn

17.  Mich St -  solid effort in loss to rival Michigan.

18.  Wisconsin - Badgers show a pulse in a surprisingly good effort in loss to Oregon.

hopin the Trojans slide into the top 25 this week, giving the Huskers a shot at a top 25 win at home

I think the Trojans win by 14-24 points in Lincoln but ya never know

Contenders:
1) Ohio State
2) Indiana--dominant
3) Oregon--struggled a little, still won easily

Top 25-ish:
4) Iowa--dominant
5) USC--off, no change
6) Michigan--won a game they were supposed to win
7) Washington--solid win for a team that will probably continue to improve

Not Ready for Prime Time:
8) Illinois--will beat lesser teams
9) Penn State--off, but still dangerous
10) Nebraska--wins = good
11) Northwestern--losses = not good
12) Minnesota--beat downs = ouch
13) [October] UCLA--more beat downs = yikes
14) [October] Maryland--off, no change
15) Rutgers--road win against the bottom category gets you moved up

PurDon't:
16) Michigan State--signs of life against a better team, but still an L
17) Purdue: nearly pulled one out; didn't
18) Wis-can't-sin: defense played tough, offense is abysmal.

1)Hoosiers - The beat goes on Cignetti's team continues to play elite football, scoring on a pick-six on the opening series. They extended their school-record home winning streak to 14 and now open a second straight November with a perfect record.
2)Bucks - hope they put the bye to good use realizing PSU will be pulling out all the stops
3)Ducks - The Ducks looked rather average but the Badgers  and the weather had something to do with it. Iowa is licking it's chops,Kinnick can be a House of Horrors, specially during Halloween Week. And Dante Moore left with an apparent face injury in the third quarter.
4)USC - had a bye and the 'Skers are on deck
5)Mesheegan - Ground game looks great grinding out 262 yds vs Sparty. Underwood ran well also good thing as things weren't working thru the air
6)Huskies - took down No.23 Illini,Denzel Boston threw and caught a touchdown pass, and finished with career highs of 10 catches and 153 receiving yards
7)Hawkeyes - move up routing the Goophs at home,3rd straight win for them moving to 4-1 in the BIG.They have the Ducks next at home
8)'Skers - They got a TD on a 4-yard run with 2:44 left, and ended the Wildcats's four-game winning streak with a 28-21 win,UNL blew a 15-point lead.
9) Illini - lost for the third time in five weeks after a 3-0 start to the year in which they were ranked as high as No. 9 in the nation.
10)Terps - are 4-3 but 1-3 in Conference play. They had a bye this week but face Indiana next
11)Wildcats
12)Gophs
13)UCLA
14)PSU
15)Rutgers
16)Purdue
17)MSU
18)UW

Didn't USC beat Michigan 31-13 ?  I tell you,  I just don't get AP voters sometimes.

some folks don't put all their eggs in the head to head match up basket

well, unless it's a tiebreaker for conference standing

Ya but that score factoring in the 3-7 pt HFA still shows how many M slappies are voting.Or voters just have the memory span of a goat. Or both

It will be interesting how the CFP committee ranks the 2 of them.  Of course,  by the time the CFP rankings come out,  things will be different.
