Doubtful.  They got invited because of USC's TV ratings and then their desire to bring a local dancing partner along with them.

Oregon and Washington, on the other hand, were super-dumb invitations.

That's fair too.  And Rutgers and Maryland.  The last good one was your Huskers.

Last week in parenthesis

  • OHIO STATE (1) - last "off" week before the gauntlet
  • INDIANA (2) - Northwestern looks feistier than expected
  • PENN STATE (4) - first real test for Rocco Becht
  • IOWA (5) - first to double digits wins?
  • USC (3) - not pretty, but the west coast schools going east don't have a great track record
  • OREGON (6) - way to send a message to the haters Dan
  • MICHIGAN (7) - slow start, woke up
  • UCLA (9) - I don't know who the current JMU coach is, but I would hire him no matter what
  • NORTHWESTERN (14) - I see you Wildcats
  • WASHINGTON (8) - perhaps the most blah 3-0 P4 team in the country
  • NEBRASKA (10) - perhaps the 2nd
  • ILLINOIS (11) - takes more than beating a mid FCS team for me to upgrade them
  • WISCONSIN (12) - offense finally woke up, but EMU defense might just be REALLY bad
  • MICHIGAN STATE (15) - defense held their own, OL got pushed around
  • MARYLAND (13) - thought they'd put up at least a fight at home
  • MINNESOTA (16) - chance to prove Mississippi State was a fluke
  • PURDUE (17) - Wake is better than we thought, but this defense is atrocious
  • RUTGERS (18) - maybe not dead yet, but still 0-3

I agree.  Unfortunately, I'll be attending a wedding in Des Moines.

I'd love to but there are numerous issues

the least of which is rain in the forecast, also questionable parking for door dings in the parking garage attached to the Hotel Fort Des Moines, and no hook to hang the jacket
