The inept coaching staff lost that game for the kids.

The better team did not win, and that's shitty.
sure you can feel that way
maybe we should just look on paper to see who wins and bypass the game totally

I'm with the Goopher. Wisconsin is a terrible team. Minnesota is merely mediocre. Maybe it's the coaching (hint: it IS the coaching), but that's part of the team.

Honestly, I was happy for my boy that he got to enjoy it. Our season was lost a long time ago. I was still angry at how the Badgers looked, but that ship sailed two months ago.

The fact that this MSU-Maryland game isnt going to end with a 4-8 team raising a brick beaver or something equivalent is a massive oversight.  every Big 10 game should be played for a stupid trophy at this point
This could be a fun thread for the off-season.  Come up with a trophy name for every single possible game series the Big Ten plays.
We are all equal but some are more equal than others.

I disagree that Minnesota is better. Wisconsin, collectively, has much better players - especially on defense.

The staff cost the kids that game Saturday, which is shitty. If I was as bad at my job as they are, I wouldn't have one.

We're not far apart, but the coaching staff is a key part of the team. And this coaching staff has made the offense a joke. The second-highest scoring game against a P4 opponent was 14. 14! Two bleeping scores. One of those was a kick return for a touchdown, the other was in garbage time. The Badgers' third-highest scoring game was 13 against Washington. In that game the Badgers scored a touchdown following a 7-yard "drive" after a Washington Fumble. The Badgers scored 10 twice: against Maryland, when they were down 27-3 (at home) and scored a garbage time TD with 28 second to play in the 4th quarter. Maryland, with its one conference win. The offensive bright spot of the season was a first quarter touchdown drive against Michigan, followed up by a field goal, to get to 10.

Excluding those two garbage time TDs against Alabama and Maryland, the Badgers had four TD drives of longer than 20 yards against P4 opponents. One of those was an 84-yard run, so hardly a "drive." In 10 games against P4 teams, the Badgers' offense scored more than one touchdown once.

Our offense was catastrophically--or comically (choose your adverb)--bad.

Not much good happens to an offense when QB1 and QB2 are down.

QB4 would have won that game Saturday, but they just had to put in the QB3 turnover machine.

There were several unfortunate injuries--the offensive line was probably a bigger deal than the quarterbacks--but the offense was a joke all season. Even before the injuries we scored 17 on Miami of Ohio. You know who scored more than that against them? Rutgers (45), UNLV (41), Eastern Michigan (30), Ohio (24), Toledo (24), Buffalo (20), and Ball State (24). But hey, Western Michigan also only scored 17, so we have that going for us. We did better than NIU (3-9), Akron (5-7), and Lindenwood (who TF is Lindenwood!?!).

The Badgers have some good offensive players: Dupree, Vinny, Kekahuna, and a few more, but the offense as a unit was the trashiest trash I've ever seen.

QB1 went down 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter in game one, missed the next two, and went down again less than 3 minutes into the game against Maryland. He never came back.

Teams win with backups all the time. This runs a lot deeper than losing one player.

Also, pretty sure Edwards didn't come back because he wants another year somewhere else.

Mediocre teams that scored more than the Badgers against Maryland:
Towson, Nebraska, UCLA, Rutgers, Michigan State. (Obviously Washington, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan also did).

Mediocre teams that scored more than the Badgers against Minnesota:
Buffalo, Cal, Rutgers, Purdue, Michigan State, Northwestern. (And obviously Ohio State, Iowa, and Oregon.)
