Arkansas State (2-1) at #17 Michigan (2-1) Post Game

The undefeated Red Wolves visit #17 Michigan at Noon tomorrow on BTN.  Michigan is favored by 23.5 points?  Clearly someone does not know what a surprisingly hot putrid mess Michigan's OL is.

OL isn't that far off. have to correct issues sure but it'll get there.

Michigan is FUCKED royally this season because they do not have a QB. And I have no clue how you let it get to that point. Orji is a glorified RB and Davis Warren truly sucks, but he's a walk-on who hasn't played a real game of football since his sophomore year in HS so not going to blame it all on him- he's starting at Michigan and he absolutely never should have been in the position where he's the only guy you've got. That one is on the coaches for not getting a commit in '22 or '23 or throwing a major bag in the portal at Cam Ward.

Alex Orji can’t be the qb because he can’t throw, but we are going to just sit here and accept the dude that has 5 INTs, one every 13 attempts.

Yeah, that's what I don't get.  You can't design an offense around Orji, so you just need to let a walkon flail?

Because Moore is a Harbaugh brainwashed lemming. That at Michigan you just overpower everyone, win in the trenches and pass occasionally to change it up but limited.

theres no creativity. There’s no adjustments. Talent carried them a long way last year. This year, they’re going to take some beatings, the next one coming this week.

I think Sherrone is the Peter Principle.  Its not his fault, but I also think he was given too much credit for what he did on gamedays when Harbaugh ran the whole week of practice and set the gameplan.  He just executed it.  I think hes an elite OL coach, but maybe not HC material

I think Moore might need different coordinators.  It’s early so I’ll hold off on judgement.  8-4 for Michigan now would now be deemed a successful season.

That’s probably a much more civilized and well spoken description.

Yup many very good coordinators seem to get snagged on the transition upwords

I'm still with-holding judgement and in wait and see mode but his first 3 game stretch is not giving me hope. How do you watch those practices and say "Davis Warren has it, he's the guy!" and continue to give him so much leash the first 3 games even though he clearly sucks ass and does in fact not have it. Even if Orji can't throw- his legs and size are a major asset. Change the offense wholesale and just ride or die with him and run the shit out of the football.

Retaining Kirk Campbell was a horrible mistake, the guy is a nothing through and through. And there is no doubt in my mind right now that Wink Martindale was just a bad hire. He hasn't evolved with the changes in the game- which is why John Harbaugh fired him at Baltimore and why the NY Giants also fired him. Coaches can have an expiration date- they can get past their prime and their once innovative schemes and philosophies can become irrelevant if the coach doesn't constantly hone the craft and evolve and adapt with the changing times. Wink is finished.

Michigan's last two DC's were amazing. Mike McDonald is now an NFL head coach and Jesse Minter is a rising star and will get a head coaching gig in the next 2-3 years after the Chargers rebuild is complete.

Wink Martindale meanwhile was fired from his last two DC jobs and was basically run out of the NFL.

Davis Warren's QBR is 35.3 which is 103rd in the nation. Not great.

And this was with JJ having a WTF was that game vs Bowling Green and chucking up 3 INT's in the 1st half....take that out it's 1 INT in 58 QTRs. Davis Warren has attempted 72 passes. He's averaging an INT every 12 throws. JFC.
