I might agree if the Golden Hat had originated in 1996.  As a physical item, it's not great.  But it's 78 years old, so it has tradition going for it.

By contrast, the Golden Boot is 23 years old, made for a made-to-order rivalry after Arkansas' entry into the SEC.

Also, the players of the winning team cannot wear the Golden Boot.
The hat itself is fine, I was referring to the hat on the stand thing being passed around.  Ditch the stand.

Re the Golden Hat, two former Sooners on the post-game radio coverage just reinforced your comment about the trophy.  Ted Lehman, the guy who caught the Chris Sims pass that Roy "Superman" Williams flew in and deflected and ran it into the end zone, said that it is like a Wal-Mart cowboy hat that has been spray-painted gold.

It's not a real hat.  It was originally cast in bronze and then was plated in gold some two or three decades later.

I can't believe USCe and UGA had four combined offensive OT opportunities and scored a combined three points.

One Int.
Two missed FG's.
One made FG.

in between these early games, my Dad and I were playing Whoa Nellie ('91 Miami at '90 Colorado).   Miami, hilariously, was hit with 2 unsportsmanlike penalties during the game, among other penalties.  This game is realistic.     :57:

Anyways, another punt was blocked (2 for 2 in playing this game), this time, the difference, as Colorado was punting in the 4th, up 10-7,  Miami blocks it and returns it for a TD,  Canes win it 14-10.    We had about 9 penalties in this game, and my first Whoa Nellie big play TD, Colorado's only TD, a 25 yard TD run.   Colorado also missed two field goals, and led 3-0 at half.

I'm so glad you're playing it and enjoying it!

I doubt any game involving '89 Miami will be a high-scoring affair.
Amazing about the multiple punt blocks - just a 2% chance for each.  The beauty of random chance?

1990 Miami might needs its own penalty chart....

199 yards to 32.....yeah, I'd say so.

Could you copy/paste this on the new thread in the game forum here?  Thanks!
