Oh yeah I'm plenty okay with standard pub food. My favorite cheeseburger in Austin is from a pub. My favorite fish and chips is from another pub. But that kind of food tends to be pretty heavy, and I can't eat it as often as I once did. Gastropubs tend to go more toward high quality ingredients, a little more clean-eating, some of them are farm-to-table, all of that kind of stuff. That's all a bit easier on my gut, especially after downing a few delicious beers to wash it down...
