LSU and Tiger stadium are really one of a kind.

Amazing place to experience.

Manning was 11 for 25....vs UTEP.

I'd honestly fake an injury and take a week off.  Yeesh.
Now we know why he was a backup behind a 7th-round draft pick.
These two words together struck me.

He doesn't look like he did last year when he started 2 games against similar scrubby teams and played a lot better.  It's pretty obvious he's playing hurt, which lots of players do all the time.

I guess we don't have anyone better than a hurt Arch Manning which sucks for us.  Gonna be tough sledding once we hit the SEC schedule, if this is all we've got.
his footwork looks so sloppy, his mechanics look different than they did a year ago, he's missing a lot of easy open throws in every game so far this year, there's close up videos of his face and him grimacing and looking like he's in pain after throws and he just doesn't have the same zip on the ball he had last year.....he has to be hurt imo.

LoL

I think they are cooked because even if they win out they'll likely be 0-2 against ranked teams

USC could be ranked, but that's probably it.

thoughts from the Michigan game....they looked better with Sherrone Moore sitting his ass at home.

they might want to think about starting Jaishawn Barham at EDGE and Cole Sullivan at LB. Derrick Moore has been playing through injury and hasn't popped off yet at EDGE. Barham gives them an explosive pass rushing threat off the edge they are lacking right now, and TJ Guy has been a major let down through 3 games- expected way more from him after his breakout year last year and this being his SR year. Oh and Jimmy Rolder is not good at ILB. he's a decent back-up, that's it. Cole Sullivan is only a RS Frosh and is already better than him. Time to play Cole Sullivan more and Jimmy Rolder less.

Of course caveats apply, they played a MAC team- but they looked MUCH better when they actually let Bryce Underwood attempt shots down the field on 1st and 2nd down and they actually used his legs in designed run plays and zone reads. WHO WOULDA THUNK IT.

Obviously playing on the road at night in Norman is a much different beast/animal and obviously Oklahoma's talent level and scheme on defense is worlds better than CMU- but they did not set up their young QB with the possibility of having any success last week. Didn't throw it on 1st or 2nd down and never once used his legs in the offense to make Oklahoma have to keep that in mind and account for it. Instead let's run on 1st down into an 8 man box, run on 2nd down into an 8 man box, and then let's ask our 18 year old true freshman QB to throw it on 3rd and long and save us. Lol.

It's vs a MAC team- but 63 points while taking the foot off the gas pedal is pretty impressive- could've even had 73 points- their automatic FG kicker missed a FG and they had a long TD run by Jordan Marshall called back- and this Michigan offense wasn't doing that last year against crap teams at all. They probably already have more explosive plays of 20+ yards on offense this year through 3 games than they did all of last year in 13 games. Might not even be an exaggeration. WR's are still pretty ass.

Bryce Underwood has insane levels of talent. I feel like there are going to be tons of WRs in the portal this off-season that would want to come join him. If it doesn't work out here for him- it'll be because Sherrone Moore is a piss poor coach. Won't be because of Bryce Underwood.

My wife and I took our two oldest to the Big House for their first game. A few takeaways.
  • I forgot how great the college atmosphere is. Even a game like Michigan vs CMU, it’s just incredible to be around. I’ve leaned this way a while, but was even deeper confirmation, the NFL game, at least in Cleveland is trash. It felt a million times more family oriented in Ann Arbor. That’s not to say there’s not drinking, but tailgating at Browns games a drunken mid-life crisis. We will be making Ann Arbor an annual event with the kids moving forward.
  • Seeing a game live you can pick up so much more. Michigan receivers are very mediocre. Underwood a couple times lead receivers on short screens and twice ended up being incomplete passes. On tv, it would have looked like a pass too far ahead of the receiver, but live you could see how the receiver misunderstood what was needed. Also, as Mdot has noted, Barham is an absolutely beast. It’s more remarkable live. If he’s not double teamed, he creates an issue for offenses. Him missing the first half of Oklahoma is now a bigger impact than I thought.
  • Underwood is the real deal. The kid for 18 is a massive specimen. So often people’s dimensions are increased on paper, like Semaj Morgan as he is very short, but Bryce is a massive human and he throws the ball very easily. He’s going to make some mistakes being to aggressive downfield, but he’s also something special. He reminds me of a Pryor/Cam Newton type combination yet he looks this good this early. Yes it was CMU, but a couple balls he threw were eye opening, jaw dropping … now way moments.
  • If Michigan goes back to run up the middle on 1st and 2nd down ever again with underwood, Moore or play caller should be fired. No joke. You can’t have talent like this and not let it be itself whether it’s CMU, Oklahoma or the Buckeyes. Good coaching adjusts to the talent.
  • Lastly, we all love this game. As messed up as our world is, go make an effort to have experiences with people you are lucky to call loved ones. It’s worth it.
