Wisconsin isn’t very good, but it will play in a bowl game, which is better than not playing in a bowl game.

I was tied up with some thing and didn’t watch, and ended up finding out from a lifestream podcast on the way home. I might’ve also been a little trepidatious when I saw how it started.

If the new coach wants to take some of the sting out of my commentary that he’s done a bad job in year one, that would be cool

Northwestern has quietly gotten bowl eligible, despite a really bad start in the preseason.  They could beat Illinois and finish 7-5.

Iowa also is doing pretty well vs expectations of course at 9-2, winning the West, a bunch of close wins, that count, and one bad loss.

I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

They were down 14-0 after two drives and gave up only 3 more for the game.

Big Red showed a lot of heart last night.

It is clear that Braelon Allen is playing hurt but he gave it all he had. Kudos to him.

Tanner Mordecai put the team on his back, with a broken right hand.

Defense woke up and essentially shut down UNL after going down 14.

72K+ in the stands was good. Probably 25% for UNL though.

Students showed up late, but they were electric when they did show.

Both teams showed up with a lot of grit.
Nobody quit
Purdy played well cornsidering he's been getting 3rd string reps. mostly running the scout team all season.
Pretty even game by the stats
first time in a long time, maybe ever that the team that had more rushing yards lost

Huskers had a few too many penalties - 7 and the punter is not good.
Missed FG obviously hurt

Entertaining game even if it was a bit ugly

Would have been a great game to take in along with MSU/Ind & Illinois/Brian

ya LSU was 5 ,PSU 7 tough see how things shake out.USC made a gold rush for Lincon Riley at the time he was the the toast of Town. Now just more like toast, hopefully he turns into Chip Kelly not bad but not all that either. Chip btw took the whiz kid to task
Weird that Riley doesn't have an entire thread dedicated to his downfall.

Hmmph.

Hmmph.

Not a single instance of twelving over the weekend. Not even close.

The most points scored by a losing team was Memphis at 34, followed by multiple teams at 31 (not just the Gators, but the Canes and Bowling Green too).

In all four games the winning team fell short of 40 as well. The biggest blowout was Miami losing to Louisville by 7. Memphis lost to SMUw by 4, The Gators lost to Mizzou by 2, and BG lost to Toledo by 1.

What in the world is going on?

Auburn's losing to NMSU is rather amazing.
