So what's the acceptable point differential?
I dunno... How shiny is the helmet?

I just dislike vague statements and would love to know the break-even point.

Georgia is now 1-1 vs Alabama this year.

I don't really care if Bama gets into the CFP or not.  I'm far more concerned with letting in garbage G5 teams with literally no shot.
I'm rooting for Duke and 2 G5 teams making it

A few years back they punished Florida State for "looking bad" in a CCG.

I guess I would be too, if Florida was in the CFP.  Red carpets are easy to walk on.

Don't be a dishonest interlocutor.
I mean neither team had a functional quarterback in the game

as for Bama's resume........
Georgia is a good win and a good loss
Oklahoma is a good loss
FSU is a bad loss

as for Texas..........
Ohio St & Georgia are good losses
Florida is a bad loss
A&M & OU are good wins

Right, it's not some tragedy if one is chosen over the other, their resumes are fairly even.

They both have a loss vs a sub-.500 team.
They both got blown out by Georgia.
Texas beat A&M, Bama beat Georgia.
They both beat Vandy.

As a person who doesn't care either way, Texas supporters are wanting that loss to OSU to do A LOT of heavy lifting for them.  Also, Texas seems to be playing better late in the year than early in the year, which used to matter A LOT more, back in the day.  WHEN you lost was even more important than WHO you lost to, back pre-BCS.

But we've been told that's no longer the case.  The whole season resume is taken into account now, as it grows.  I thought we were past those days of a "hot" 2-loss USC or Georgia or CU (2001) team getting support to be elevated come bowl season.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter which, if either gets in.  They're not winning it.  They're not elite.  We're talking about teams hovering at or below 10th.  They're not bonafide.  They're no prize.  So why the big hullabaloo??

...because they got to Atlanta.

3 losses in 13 games is better than 3 losses in 12, isn't it?  Let me get a calculator.
If it was anyone besides Bama, would everyone be complaining so much?

Texas is out. The question is Miami, ND, or Bama. Two will make it. Miami and ND would be favored over Bama and have a better record and neither has lost by more than one score but we have to give charity to the SEC teams.

people are complaining because it would NOT be anyone besides Bama
well, as you say, it's just a matter of time before we crown a 3-loss champ
