I had forgotten it was Saturday and tuned in to find Florida up 21-3 on UCF. Good to see the Gators win. Not a lot of likely wins going forward.
That was one hell of a Saturday, though. Vanderbilt? VANDERBILT!
That is a case of Bama having a normal, we-all-have-them letdown game after blowing your load in an epic showdown the week before. Vanderbilt is usually immune to cashing in, unless it's a noon kickoff. Bama is usually immune, thanks to Saban, but he's gone now.
Tennessee losing was crazy, too. UM. USC. Wow, just wow.
It all seems less important now, obviously, but Eric would have loved the Vandy result. He absolutely loved the underdog in general.
I'm pleased that FSU lost once again and looks to be in shambles. I'm not above enjoying that, even when I'm mourning.
Part of the beauty of college football is that an initially 'bleh' schedule of games can often yield these WTF results. The NFL doesn't have a Vandy. They don't have a Bama. They're communist. College football is free-market (especially now, but you know what I mean). It's the only way impossible upsets can happen.
I just appreciated the distraction for a few hours on Saturday. Been getting as much 'stuff' out of their house today as we can - donating medical stuff and selling collectibles the family has no desire to keep. Not fun, but anything to help out.
