I'm not sure Ohio State is ready for this.  I'm not sure yall have any basis to prepare or compare.  Your statistical lead in defense is matched against lessor teams than that which Tennessee's are, which are in turn also flattened by their and the same competition.

I think tOSU and aTm are peers in capability.  LSU is close by as well as Alabama.  Vandy would stand tall against them.  Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee are better teams all around, and far more tested and proven.  Proven against more diverse styles of play and more teams playing for more than just Saturday payouts such as half the B1G fields, most the ACC fields, and most the B12 fields.

tOSU can win, and home is huge, but buying into this 7pt spread as click bait for easy money is a mistake.

It's gonna happen like this:

One will lose, Saturday, and it'll be clear who's better in the end.  7pts? No way... 17-21pt spread... if it's tOSU it'll be because UT is all out and running into brick walls as they discover tOSUs D is "all that".  If it's UT it'll be because they, still, play all out and run a play every 15seconds and keep Sampson fed which opens the center of the field and we see those trips with the lone wideout on the far side spanning 50 yards point to point across the LoS.

I expect a 45-51 to 14-20 affair, but I don't know which is which and won't until round about 845 saturday eve.  If UT comes in fast as they can but huep hasn't done since week three or so, tOSU is going to be shell shocked.  If tOSU holds them scoreless through the first and deep into the second- I'd put halftime money down it's osu that rips up the second half.

The only game I feared this season was arky... I called that prior, amd my boys dropped it.  I thought they'd give uga a harder time, but the refs didn't allow that.  I am confident in this game- insofar as believing my boys will be fully prepared, clear of their goals, and at 110%.  Now of tOSU wins? They'll have done so meeting mine at their best.  If they win, good on them.  At mines best they can play with anyone and there is no team in the nation that would take three straight in the best of five with them.  That's the team yall will see.  I don't know that there isn't two if not three teams that couldn't do that to osu.  My opinion of yall may be in for a rude awakening and I hope we get your best.

My brothers in orange will be displeased with me for doing this..

Heads up , @DunkingDan , @TREX , and @ATexasVol ...

https://www.cfb51.com/tennessee/ and at the bottom of the page will be open.. the shoutbox... we convene there at gametime. Yall have an invite to attend.

I may or may not be there... I secured a 22# prime standing ribeye roast that will be smoke to internal of 108, then rested.. then sliced into badass steaks and covered with Irish butter before being chargrilled at 800+ degrees and slapped on a plate adjacent twice backed potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus... a covering of butter, fried bacon, portobello shrooms,  Vidalia onion, sea scallops and chopped 12count shrimp along with a white sauce and horseradish will top said steaks and with less than 15 people coming, everyone will have a pound plus.  Then, there is the subject of cohibas- brought by a buddy who works for a particular agency and who has diplomatic waivers and always brings the good ones... these are siglos from 2003.. I think they're 5s but wouldn't swear to it.  I may even drop the screen- a 18ft corner to corner carls screen a 4khd projector that casts a beautiful picture, but the weather will determine that.

If everybody bows out from colder weather- supposed to be down to 30, that means I'll be on the shoutbox and very very full and with steaks to spare.  I'll pass through one way or the other.

if Ohio State had a fully healthy OL, I’d pick them and feel pretty confident. But they don’t. if they can play defense, run the ball effectively and not turn it over they should be able to eek out a win at home.

That LT and C they lost are excellent players and future NFL draft picks. And Ohio State doesn’t really have the kind of depth at OL that say a Michigan had last year. There’s a big drop off without their starters in and especially vs other talented teams like Tennessee.

I just don’t think Will Howard is the type of QB that can throw you to victory. They need the OL in place to protect him and get the run game going so they can set up the pass off that. Howard isn’t going to dissect a defense pre-snap like Peyton Manning and he doesn’t have the arm talent to make insane throws and dot it up all over the lot like Aaron Rodgers. He’s not an elite QB or passer.

If Ohio State can’t run the ball effectively and efficiently and they get stuck behind the chains and need Howard to throw 35-50 times they will lose cause flat out, he ain’t that guy.

Watch the game and play close attention to the QB’s. Some of the throws Nico will make and the arm talent he’ll display will really flash- even as only a 19 year old RS Frosh. He has the look and feel of a future top pick NFL QB as a RS Frosh. Will Howard is like a 6th year 24 year old SR who has never remotely shown that kind of ability in oh I don’t know- ever.
