Nebraska (0-1, 1-3) vs. #6 Oklahoma (3-0) Post Game
« on: September 12, 2022, 07:56:20 AM »
The game is on Fox at Noon EDT this Saturday.  The Sooners are favored by 13 points in this most traditional rivalry re-born.  Oklahoma didn't look that great in the first half against Kent State.  Will the Huskers respond to win one for their new interim Head Coach Mickey Joseph?  I'd love to see it.

I think we'll definitely see the best version of Nebraska in this one.  Sooners win a close one.

How's that any different than the past five years

It's really not.  I was tempted to even pick an upset here until GA Southern happened.  Maybe worth taking a shot on Nebraska if they are +400 or so.

yeah, Oklahoma by a lot.

Two things either happen when coach gets fired: team rallies behind the interim or they check out.

I’m gonna guess these guys check out as they’d have to know full well the interim has 0 shot at the job permanently.

I don’t see this game being close. The optimism of B1G fans to support one of their own is great to see, but this has ugly written all over it

It's more about Oklahoma than Nebraska.  They were up 7-3 at halftime last week against Kent State.  They are vulnerable to an upset.

I'd say Mickey has a decent chance to become the head coach

IF, (big if) someone better isn't available.

Mickey is thought to be the best recruiter on the staff.  I'd guess that's why he's the interim head coach.  Trying to hold recruiting together in the middle of a shit show.

He's an up & comer - some folks at Nebraska don't want to see him slip away to another program.

Obviously,  no head coaching experience at this level.  Was assistant head coach at LSU.

It will be interesting to see how the team plays Saturday morning.  Perhaps the Sooners are over confident??

CW Sooner and I will be there.

I'm hoping the same thing as last season in Norman... no blowout, keep it a game into the 4th quarter.

Such high aspirations...

But I'd still gladly buy him a wax cup beer if he ever showed up for the game in Dallas.
