Tcu will be overmatched in this one.

Halftime will be 21-10. Final 37-24 and not that close.

honestly with the way Michigan has played all year, could see TCU being up by that score at the half and Michigan winning the game by that score.

As I recall, TCU is also more of a second-half team.  It should be interesting.

For about 3/4.

We all see how depth can carry the day in a playoff (or other high level game).  Saban basically "invented" this (I know he didn't, but he made it notable recently.)  Smart has duplicated that strategy, and I think Michigan is there as well.  Ohio State has always had good depth.

So, we see games close at the half and then one side wears out.  I see the portal thread and wonder how teams can realistically maintain much depth.

TCU got to the final 4 by being a great team in a mediocre conference. Michigan has better athletes at every position, faster, and more depth. I’m sure Sonny Dykes is a fine coach, but unless Michigan doesn’t even practice for a month the equation is already written, you just need to solve the variables at this point. And if by some miracle they get past Michigan ( they won’t ) UGA will eat them up like chopped liver.

I don't think the difference is really at the skill athletes, and TCU most definitely has better WR athletes/talent than Michigan, don't think that one is even close. Biggest difference is probably the line of scrimmage guys- and that's where the game is usually won and lost. Michigan had a really good OL last year- this years is better. Because: Olu Oluwatimi- the 2021 All-American & Rimington runner up center they got from Virginia to transfer in might just be the best center in CFB this year imo. He took an already really good OL from a year ago that returned 3 starters up to another level. And Michigan has really good depth at OL as well- best depth on the OL that they've had in the Harbaugh era.

And then on defense they have some dudes on that front. Mike Morris at EDGE is 6'6, 290 with a six pack and can move for a guy his size- son of a former NFL player- just got them genetics. Mel Kiper has him on his big board in the 1st rd. Mazi Smith at DT is 6'3, 337 lbs., was a former 4* top 100 recruit, Kiper has him as the #4 DT and going in the 2nd rd. They have lot of guys they rotate on that DL, Kris Jenkins (6'3, 285 lbs) and Rayshaun Benny (6'4, 292 lbs) have been really solid but their pair of true frosh DT's have been really good. Mason Graham at 6'3, 317 has been a starter as a true frosh at DT and been dominant at times- made bunch of Freshman All-American 1st team lists. Then their true frosh #2 NT Kenneth Grant who backs up Mazi Smith is probably the freakiest dude they have on their DL- he's 6'4, 350+ and freakishly big and strong. And then the depth they have at EDGE is pretty impressive too. Eyabi Okie (6'5, 245 lbs., former 5* 'croot), Braiden McGregor (6'6, 270 lbs., former 4* top 100 overall 'croot), and Derrick Moore (6'3, 279 lbs., 4* former top 50 overall 'croot, UnderArmour HS All-Star MVP) - all get in that rotation and are dudes. They rotate lot of defensive tackles and EDGE guys and stay fresh and just kinda wear teams down in the 2nd half.

I'm interested to see if last weeks game vs a good QB in Aidan O'Connell and a really really good WR in Charlie Jones in which the true frosh 5* Frosh All-American CB Will Johnson acquitted himself really well and made 2 big time interceptions can spring board him into the playoffs with confidence and play his best football vs TCU's super talented WR's. Will Johnson still only a young true frosh pup but that kid is a future 1st rd pick 6'2/6'3, 200 lbs CB, great ball skills and athletic as can be. Super talented and has already played at a high level as a true frosh at maybe the hardest position to play outside of QB.

This feels like 2015, for different reasons, when MSU got the 3 seed, because the committee knew they had to put Clemson #1, but thought Alabama was the best team, so the bumped MSU up to put them against Alabama, to give Alabama the easier matchup.

Nobody would put TCU #3, but they don't want a rematch.

sounds like Edwards might have that damn cast on his right hand for the remainder of the playoffs. f@%k. There is a slim outside shot that Corum may be able to return for the national title game if Michigan is able to beat TCU.

Michigan has won the Joe Moore Award for the nations best OL unit. This is their 2nd year in a row winning it. Olu Oluwatimi is really good. They don't sniff this award without him transferring in. That was the portal hit of the year for any team in 'Merica imo.

Mazi Smith won’t be sentenced until after Fiesta Bowl following a misdemeanor weapons charge.

The senior defensive tackle for Michigan was arrested back in October for having a magazine that held twice the standard number of bullets for a Glock 19 handgun while at a traffic stop.

It has now been made aware by court records that Smith, who was originally set for sentencing on Dec. 29 has now been moved to Jan. 12.

Yes, he's an idiot.  Didn't wait for his concealed carry permit paperwork to come through.  The amount of ammo is meaningless.  Could have had his car filled with ammo up to the window sills.  A guilty plea to a misdemeanor sounds about right.
